Job Overview:A prestigious 5-star lodge in the heart of Limpopo is seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead its kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards in food preparation, presentation, and service while managing kitchen staff, resources, and suppliers effectively.Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all food items according to luxury hospitality standards.
  • Ensure top-quality food and service for both buffet and xc3xa0 la carte dining.
  • Manage kitchen operations, including procurement, stock control, and cost management.
  • Maintain high hygiene standards and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficiency and performance.
  • Monitor and maintain food cost control procedures and stock rotation (FIFO).
  • Handle supplier relationships, deliveries, and kitchen inventory.
  • Report breakages, manage kitchen budgets, and oversee efficient use of resources (gas, electricity, and water).
  • Plan menus in line with seasonal availability and guest preferences.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints related to food service.
  • Foster teamwork and cooperation with other departments.
  • Prepare management reports and maintain administrative records.
Requirements:
  • Matric certificate and a formal culinary qualification.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a senior chef in a 4- or 5-star lodge.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Valid RSA ID and a stable employment track record.
  • A valid drivers license and own transport are recommended.
