A Luxury Safari Lodge is looking for a HEAD CHEF to join their amazing teamPOSITION INFO:
Nestled in the heart of the Timbavati Nature Reserve, this exclusive safari lodge offers an intimate experience with just six luxury suites, ensuring personalized service and attention to detail. The lodge prides itself on world-class , seamlessly blending indoor comfort with outdoor splendor.
The lodge seeks a talented and passionate chef to elevate its culinary offerings. The ideal candidate will be adept at crafting gourmet cuisine that complements the luxurious safari experience, emphasizing fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Creativity in menu planning and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences are essential. The chef will work closely with the lodge team to ensure that each meal becomes a memorable part of the guests' stay, reflecting the lodge's dedication to excellence and sustainability.Candidate requirements:

  • Proven experience managing a kitchen and a team
  • Formal qualification beneficial
  • Must be able to do costings and menu planning and development
  • Be well-versed in stock control and ordering
  • Be able to work independently
  • Must be able to manage and minimize wastage
  • Fluent in English - written and spoken
  • Impeccable hygiene and presentation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Well-organized with attention to detail
  • Presentable
  • Computer literate to do food orders
  • Health and Safety trained
Live-in position.
27kpm, and Cycle: 5 weeks, 12 days off.
