Provide on-going strategic direction and lead the implementation of strategy for this business. Continue to build the CPF Africa franchise across the Corporate, Commercial and Enterprise segments, including direct coverage of key clients. Leverage internal capabilities to deliver the product to clients and broaden touch points / engagement levels with clients. The ideal candidate will have deal making experience in Africa, in Commercial Property Finance or related sectors, will have lead teams and managed in complex organisational settingsProduct and Service delivery

  • Lead work to broaden the African CPF value proposition for both in-country and cross border clients and transactions, and maintain service, delivery, and client engagement in line with the CPF overall strategy.
  • Drive and monitor CPF Africa market share, customer retention, customer growth, customer satisfaction and customer profitability.
  • Develop strong and collaborative relationships with the in-country stakeholders to devise best in class solutions (within the risk appetite) for clients.
  • Accountable for delivering a high-quality customer experience with leadership responsibility for a team of vice presidents.
  • Proactively anticipate, respond to and seek to exceed the expectations of customers.
  • Take a lead role in evaluating and executing property finance transactions.
  • Manage and develop strong internal and external customers/stakeholder relationships.
  • Achieve annual financial targets as agreed with the Head AGL CPF
  • Act as sector expert for real estate debt finance in the market outside of South Africa with an established network in order to maximise all potential opportunities, and maintain a strong brand presence.
Business Management
  • Instill a best-in-class approach to product knowledge, sales research, customer relationship development, and solutioning to meet customers needs using market and industry information and risk management across the team.
  • Track targets set by Head AGL CPF and provide insightful commentary on business performance.
  • As a member of the CPF Management team, ensure collaborative working and sharing of best practice across the team.
  • Share best practice and industry knowledge with peers to maximise CPF performance and support the implementation of the CPF strategic initiatives.
  • Provide support to the in-country Coverage business areas and functions, including sharing of product knowledge and best practices.
  • Manage the constituent P&L forecasts and keep close track of risks and opportunities, enabling regular and accurate updates to senior management.
  • Monitor, analyse, interpret, and communicate performance data in a way that gives Manco and the businesses confidence in the information. Defines targets, financial and non-financial, which drive performance in line with CPF strategy.
  • Monitor the risk weighted return on the portfolio of existing clients by proactively working with the relevant stakeholders to manage margins, fees, impairments and costs in order to maximise Return on Equity.
  • Monitor the impairments for in-country business and ensure that no avoidable provisions are raised due to non-adherence or ineffective management.
3.People Management
  • Together with the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), determine the people management strategy for Africa CPF, with a focus on talent management, development, resourcing and retention.
  • Drive a culture of transformation and innovation and encourage knowledge sharing and new ways of doing things.
  • Embed formal Performance Development and informal coaching.
4.Other
  • Represent the CPF business in relevant industry forums (conferences and so on)
  • Prepare thought-leadership pieces or other initiatives to maintain CPF Africas industry profile.
Education and Experience Required
  • Commercial degree, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of Five (5) years experience in a senior sector role
  • Extensive Africa commercial property and/ debt experience
  • Must have had people management experience.
  • Change management experience and cultural sensitivity.
