Job SummaryOur client, a franchisee of a well-known and popular fast-food brand, is seeking a Financial Accountant to lead their accounting team at their head office in Kuils River, Cape Town.REQUIREMENTS:Min Qualifications & Experience

• Comm Accounting Degree or Equivalent
• Completed Articles (SAICA or SAIPA)
• 3-5 years post Articles Accounting experience

Experience & Skills - Required:

• Technical accounting knowledge (IFRS) (External Auditors is responsible for formal Financial Statements )
• GAAP experience advantageous
• Experience working with Sage Evolution and/or other accounting package
• Excellent MS Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines
• Pro-active personality
• Problem solving abilities
• Ability to work in a close-knit team
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Proven Leadership experience
• South African Resident
• Fluent in English
• Valid driver's licence

Responsibilities:Financial

• Full financial function of multiple statutory entities
• Preparation of consolidated Management Accounts in line with the deadlines on the financial calendar (accurate and in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements)
• Cashflow reporting and forecasting
• Preparation of consolidated Statement of Financial Position with its various audit files
• Ensure accuracy of journal capturing
• Update income tax and deferred tax calculation
• Managing accuracy of fixed asset register on a rolling basis
• Collation of various financial reports to be used in Financial Management of the business
• Monthly reporting to executive committee
• Analysing financial results of individual business units / cost centres against budgeted figures.
• Investigation and corroboration of variances
• Reconciliation & submission of VAT and PAYE returns
• Liaising with SARS/ tax practitioner on all tax related issues
• Responsible for year-end audit by External Auditors
• Responsible for Creditors reconciliations and payments
• Review and approval of all payments
• Reviewing of Cash cycle & Bank recons
• Liaising with Bank on financing and banking related issues
• Liaising with Franchisor
• Coordination and planning of the annual budget process
• Ad hoc tasks to be received from CFO

People

• Managing team of

10 accountants * Managing three member Creditors Team

• Managing reporting deadlines
• Providing leadership and structure
• Coaching and mentoring the team as well as the individual personnel
• Performance evaluation and -management of finance team members
