Goodwood Jubilee Memorial Homes comprises of both Protea Home for the Elderly and Goodwood Jubilee Retirement Centre. Goodwood Jubilee Memorial Homes currently has an opportunity for an experienced and skilled Head Nurse to join their team on a permanent basis and manage both homes. The successful candidate will report to the Manager. The ideal candidate will be able to lead a team, have a love and passion for the elderly and be able to build strong, trusting relationships.Key responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Manager
• Attend board meetings when required
• Managing the nursing composition for Protea Home for the Elderly and Goodwood Jubilee Retirement Centre
• Completion of administrative tasks
• Completion of nursing duties and responsibilities
• Managing reportees

Requirements:

• Relevant professional Nursing qualification
• Relevant experience in a similar position providing elderly care (minimum of 5-10 years)
• Proof of registration with SA Nursing Council (SANC)
• Management and leadership experience (minimum of 4-5 years)
• A psychiatry qualification would be advantageous
• Proficient in Afrikaans or English
• Computer literacy and good typing skills
• High levels of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
• Good time management, planning and organising skills
• Conflict management skills
• Well-developed communication skills
• Love and passion for the elderly
• Willingness to be available after-hours (on call)
• Well-developed pressure management skills
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Drivers licence (Code 8)

A market-related salary structure will be negotiated based on qualifications, skills and experience.
