A Travel Retail Software company is looking for a dedicated Catering Unit Head, this is a standalone division where the full retail service, including final mile delivery, is managed alongside the inflight catering operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for effectively managing the full end to end inflight catering operations meeting all Customer, Company and Government Regulations, Contract Service Level Agreements, Health & Safety, Security, Compliance, Employment, and all other legal statutory obligations. Effectively managing the Retail Operation for Warehousing - Pick & Pack - Final Mile Outbound/Inbound following Customer, Company (Retail) & Government Regulations and Guidelines. You will also be responsible for Profit & Loss management in line with Group Company requirements and finance budget expectations. The company is a key player in the travel retail sector, specializing in retail food & beverage, duty-free products, and technologies
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12
Degree educated or equivalent experience
Proven experience in Operational management service delivery to inflight catering (desired)
Proven experience in large volume catering manufacturing business
Proven experience in a General Manager or Senior Leadership role, ideally from an Inflight Background
At least 2-5 years experience in Airline Catering Background
Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis
Knowledge of safe food handling, sanitation, and health & safety regulations
Health & Safety certification (desired)
Contract Management Experience required
Proficiency in computer systems and software relevant to inflight catering
Strong understanding of food operations, including food preparation, service delivery and inventory management, with the focus on front face customer
Strong knowledge of Catering unit Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
IT Skilled across Microsoft Platforms or similar, WMS and or similar management platforms
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays as required
Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, influence and motivate a diverse team
Ability to work under pressure, multitask, with high attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Sound knowledge of Retail Customers, Range Selections, Performance, and other direct customer requirements
Expertise in managing suppliers and best practices
An ability to read and understand legal agreements
Strong interpersonal skills
Robust financial knowledge, with an analytical & methodical mind
Problem solver & innovative, being proactive and forward thinking
Planning and coordinating ability
Trustworthy & emotionally mature

Duties and Responsibilities:
Effectively manage the full end to end inflight catering operation meeting all Customer, Company and Government Regulations, Contract Service Level Agreements, Health & Safety, Security, Compliance, Employment, and all other legal statutory obligations
Effectively manage the Retail Operation for Warehousing - Pick & Pack - Final Mile Outbound/Inbound following Customer, Company (Retail) & Government Regulations and Guidelines
Responsible for Profit & Loss management in line with Group Company requirements and finance budget expectations.
All Food Production & Plating, ensuring full compliance is managed in line with Customer, Company and Government Food Safety
Handling & Quality Standards and Regulations
All associated stores functions, (Food, Dry, Bonded, Warehouse & Equipment) are managed in line with Customer, Company, and Government Regulations
Flight assembly including, Food & Tray set packing, Equipment, Stores & Ancillary Services are managed in line with Customer, Company, and Government Regulations
Ensure all Inbound, Outbound Scheduled, Charter and Ad Hoc Services are managed on time and in full following agreed Customer, Company, and Government Regulations
Effectively manage building facility infrastructure, site equipment and utility services following Company and Government Regulations
Effectively manage transport and vehicle fleet, maintenance, and compliance in line with Company and Government Regulations
Ensure Staff Training, Security and Health & Safety requirements are always adhered to in line with Customer, Company, and Government Regulations
Full Landside & Airside Security Compliance
Build and manage an effective professional team, across all levels to ensure a smooth and efficient operation
Develop and maintain strong relationships with Customers & Regulatory Bodies
Ownership of profitability of own ranges. Tourvest Retail strategy for product areas with KPIs and objectives to deliver client service expectations and business growth
Analysing suppliers welfare, productivity data and optimizing their supply
Monitor and optimise the KPI metrics setting ambitious but realistic efficiency targets to proactively contribute to customer satisfaction and business growth
Auditing current processes and working with all relevant teams across the business to map out and execute optimisations and automations that will improve both process and cost efficiencies
Liaising with internal and external customers, performance review meetings, managing queries, ensuring contractual requirements are being met
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety and Customs and Excise regulations on any product purchased
