  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a management role within the transport or logistics industry. (Tautliner Specifications is a necessity)
  • Strong understanding of transport operations and fleet management.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology used in transport management.
Key Responsibilities:Operational Management:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the transport division, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Monitor and manage fleet maintenance to ensure vehicles are in optimal condition.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Financial Management:
  • Prepare and manage the division's budget, ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Oversee billing, invoicing, and collections processes to ensure timely payment.
Staff Management:
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of transport staff, including drivers, logistics coordinators, and support personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing feedback and development opportunities.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork and collaboration.
Customer Service:
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Develop and implement customer service standards to ensure high levels of satisfaction.
  • Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.
Strategic Planning:
  • Contribute to the development of the company's strategic plans and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion within the division.
  • Develop and implement plans to achieve divisional goals and objectives.
Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant laws and regulations, including transport and safety regulations.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on divisional performance to senior management.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all operations and activities.
Working Conditions:This role may require occasional travel to various operational sites.
