Only candiadtes with recent experience in the Luxury Hotel and Safari Property sector will be considered for the position.The Head of HR for the Travel Hospitality Portfolio will lead the human resources function for a collection of luxury safari lodges and hotels throughout South Africa. This role specializes in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company's overall mission and values. It involves fostering a culture of inclusivity and family, ensuring the well-being of employees, enhancing guest experiences, and promoting sustainable practices within the community. Key responsibilities include recruitment, employee development, performance management, and organizational culture enhancement.Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HR strategies that support the overall business goals of the hospitality portfolio.
  • Lead recruitment processes to attract and retain top talent across various hospitality roles.
  • Oversee employee onboarding, development programs, and performance management systems to create a high-performing workforce.
  • Promote a culture of inclusivity, high performance, and employee engagement across all locations.
  • Implement training and development initiatives that enhance staff capabilities, service excellence, and career growth.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws and industry regulations, regularly updating policies to meet evolving standards.
  • Advise management on HR-related matters, policies, and best practices to foster a positive workplace environment.
  • Manage HR functions across multiple locations, effectively coordinating to maintain a cohesive organizational culture.
  • Attract and retain talent in a competitive hospitality market through innovative recruitment and engagement practices.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and employee relations initiatives to support a harmonious workplace atmosphere.
  • Conduct workforce analysis and develop metrics to gauge employee satisfaction and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Masters degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional HR certification
  • Strong knowledge of hospitality industry standards and practices, including HR best practices.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with management at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to navigate complex HR challenges.
  • Commitment to supporting a positive organizational culture that prioritizes employee well-being.
  • Familiarity with labour laws and compliance regulations in South Africa.
  • Experience managing HR operations in a multi-site environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and ATS systems for effective data management.
  • Understanding of diversity and inclusion trends within the workplace.
  • Capacity to lead change initiatives while maintaining employee morale.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret HR metrics and drive strategic planning.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
