Job Description
An established financial services company is looking for an experienced individual to head its internal audit department that has operations spread through other African countries.The prosperous candidate will be required to bring systematic and disciplined approaches to assess and enhance the institutions internal control and risk/governance processes focus, with a key focus on AML. Assertiveness, planning and organization are essential, in addition to a high-quality work ethic and excellent communication skills.Duties:
- Stakeholder engagement
- Draft and deliver annual internal audit plans
- Attend committee meetings
- Conduct reviews and draft action plans
- Improve institutions operations
- Audit internal controls and governance/compliance
- Review and mitigate potential risks
- Honours in Internal Auditing/Financial Accounting/Risk Management
- IIA qualification and membership
- CIA (non-negotiable)
- CISA/CRMA/CFSA/CA(SA)/CIMA/CQA advantageous
- Min. 10 years Internal Audit experience, 5 years at a managerial level
- Understanding insurance and unsecured lending industry
- TeamMate/IDEA/ACL
