HEAD OF IT (Corporate Services) - Cape Town, Western Cape, SA Highly Competitive Package on OfferPOSITION INFO:HEAD OF IT (Corporate Services) Cape Town, Western Cape, SAHighly Competitive Package on Offer!Our Client, a highly reputable Global concern is in search of a highly energetic, collaborative and solutions orientated Head of IT to join their team of Corporate Services Specialist.You have a blend of IT technical expertise, experience in managing an IT department, stakeholder management experience and leadership capability.Main Purpose of the Role:To develop the IT Strategy, including disaster recovery strategies, across multiple offices (including international) and taking end to end responsibility for all IT across the Group.This will include ensuring effective and efficient helpdesk support, IT security, IT infrastructure, compliance, policy, system support and business solutions.You will work with specialist service providers to ensure that the Groups IT systems are aligned with the business's strategic goals, function smoothly, and enhance business operations.Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop the IT strategy
  • Lead and develop an IT team.
  • Identify and manage suitable partners and or service providers
  • Ensure implementation of IT governance policies to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards, including data security, privacy, and disaster recovery.
  • Ensure projects are steered, managed and implemented successfully.
  • Plan, co-ordinate and manage the implementation of systems and/or upgrades.
  • Identify and manage IT risks affecting business operations or data security.
  • Implement strong security protocols and disaster recovery plans to protect IT assets.
  • Apply audit recommendations to meet company standards and ensure system integrity.
  • Evaluate and report on all systems security and controls.
  • Develop and manage IT budgeting and cost management, monitor expenditures, and optimise IT spending to achieve cost efficiencies while maintaining service levels.
  • Analyse current business processes, highlighting strengths and weaknesses and exploring ways IT can contribute to improving these processes.
  • Translate business needs into cost-effective solutions.
  • Analyse and present process re-engineering opportunities to the business.
  • Evaluate current information systems architecture and recommend enhancements.
  • Support and lead the business in developing short- to medium-term plans for continuous improvement.
  • Create procedures and reports to identify and address data integrity issues.
  • Manage and deliver software development projects.
  • Modify existing system features to support business processes.
  • Manage system changes throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Test systems to ensure they meet business requirements.
  • Ensure IT support for all systems and technologies.
  • Conduct routine assessments to ensure system integrity and reliability.
Qualification, Skills, Experience and Characteristics required:
  • Bachelors Degree in IT or equivalent
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience with 3 to 5 years of relevant senior management experience
  • Experience in IT Strategy, budget management and disaster recovery strategies
  • Proficiency in project management and successful track record leading large and complex IT projects
Advantageous:
  • Experience in a consulting or advisory or corporate services environment
  • Experience working with multiple offices (including international)
