Purpose of Role




We are seeking a highly motivated, strategically minded and experienced Head for our Seed & Growth Portfolio to join a dynamic team reporting directly to the

Chief Portfolio Officer ("CPO")

. The individual will be responsible for leading a team of Value Creation Managers ("VCMs") in identifying, implementing and measuring value creation strategies that optimize the performance of our ventures and enhances their value. Our portfolio is sector, business life stage and instrument agnostic and as such is made up of a diverse range of industries, technologies, and business models and thus, this role requires a strong blend of financial expertise, strategic thinking, business analytics, a deep understanding of business practices and a passion for driving impact.



The individual will also have the opportunity to sit on the boards of select portfolio companies, providing strategic insights directly to the founding teams, guiding them in pivotal moments, and having a real voice in their journey to success.

Objectives of Role



Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Seed to Growth portfolio, ensuring the ventures receive tailored and impactful value creation support that is aligned with the overall portfolio objectives and growth targets set; Lead and manage a team of VCMs, providing mentorship, guidance, and support to ensure the delivery of high-impact value creation initiatives; Build strong relationships with founders and actively support their ventures, guided by the value creation plan, in areas such as fundraising preparation, market access, operational improvements, and strategic decision-making; Facilitate connections with relevant advisors, mentors, and industry experts to address specific venture needs; Manage Service Providers from onboarding to performance management and tracking; Oversee the collection, analysis, and synthesis of monthly reporting packs from portfolio companies, ensuring timely delivery and actionable insights in collaboration with the Data Reporting and Partnerships Lead; Continuously refine and optimize the framework for the value creation playbook to enhance its impact, with a focus on our value creation levers; Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify new opportunities for supporting ventures, including market access, cross-portfolio collaboration, and tailored founder support; Act as a strategic partner to the CPO by contributing insights and recommendations on operational and strategic priorities for the Seed to Growth portfolio.

Experience and Qualifications



Relevant business-related qualifications, ideally include: + A Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as Business Studies, Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, technology, and/or Social Studies;
+ A Master's or advanced degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Strategy, Finance, or technology is preferred;
5 years+ of practical experience in Value Creating Business support, either within organisations or supporting start-ups or strategic planning and operational improvements within the start-up context; Proven experience in managing ventures preferably in a Venture Capital, private equity, start-up ecosystem, or management consulting role; Demonstrated experience managing and mentoring teams to deliver measurable outcomes;

Strategic mindset with a strong understanding of value creation frameworks and impact investing principles; Solid financial analysis skills, financial modelling, revenue forecasting, and KPI tracking; Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders; Strong networking skills and ability to build relationships with entrepreneurs, industry experts, and investors; Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills. Proficiency in data analytics and reporting tools would be an advantage; Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, ability to work efficiently, and ability to work with, and drive improvement of, systems and tools; Demonstrable ability to reason analytically and the ability to successfully manage multiple projects; Strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; Ability to work with team members (internal) and external stakeholders, demonstrating exceptional people skills with a strong ability to inspire, motivate and influence others
