Job Summary Our client, a renowned organisation in the multinational Informational technology sector is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a dynamic Head of Software Solutions Engineering to be based in their Offices on the Northern outskirts of Johannesburg, South Africa. MAIN PURPOSE FOR THE ROLE : To be responsible for providing strategic leadership, fostering innovation, and driving the growth and performance of their engineering team. To lead their software solutions engineering Business Unit (BU), fostering growth, development, and outstanding performance. To play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their Software solutions engineering BU. KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: At minimum a Bachelor''''s or masters degree in computer science or a related field. At least 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. A proven track record of managing and scaling engineering teams. Strong technical background with expertise in software development methodologies and best practices. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. A visionary leader with a passion for technology and innovation. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement a clear engineering strategy aligned with the company''''s goals and objectives. Lead the engineering team in defining and prioritizing technical initiatives to drive business growth. Team Growth and Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain top engineering talent. Create a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members to help them reach their full potential. Performance Management: Set clear performance expectations and goals for the engineering division. Establish KPIs and metrics to measure team performance and ensure continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback. Technology and Innovation: Remain updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. Drive innovation within the engineering division to create cutting-edge solutions. Foster a culture of experimentation and creativity to solve complex challenges. Project Excellence: Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Oversee project planning and execution to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. Implement agile methodologies and best practices to optimize project workflows. Client Engagement: Work closely with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide technical expertise and recommendations. Build strong client relationships and act as a technical liaison between the client and the engineering team.
