Job Description

Purpose of the role:Establish a safe workplace according to legal standards and foster a culture of attention to health and safety.Main responsibilities:Develop and maintain a Health and Safety Policies and processesLiaise with the Health professionals to ensure that employees in relevant roles are medically fitRegularly review and update company health and safety risk assessments, safe operating procedures and safety statementsComplete safety induction training for all staff, sub-contractors and maintain documentary evidenceInvestigate, record and report accidents and incidents timeouslyEnsure corrective measures are implementedConduct quarterly Health and Safety drills to ensure knowledge stickinessEnsure that accidents are recorded to the regulated bodies such as Department of labour and monitor the recording of operational accidents and incidentsEnsure that statutory training is conducted, employees are correctly certificated and oversee validity of the certificationEnsure that correct PPE is availed to staff at all timesReview sub-contractorxe2x80x99s safety statements and safety complianceAttend regular health and safety meetings and ensure proper documentation of meetingsSubmit monthly reports to Adeo structuresThe successful candidate should have the following skills, experience and attributes:A recognized, completed 3-year tertiary qualification in Health & Safety or any other related field.A clear understanding and proven working knowledge of the Health & Safety function.3-5 years solid Health & Safety experience in a fast-paced environmentSAMTRAC (Safety Management Training Certificate)Diligent and great attention to detailStrong time managementAbility to communicate at all levelsAbility to work under pressureAbility to work in an unstructured, ambiguous environmentAbility to anticipate and prevent accidents or incidentsFully computer literate (MS Office).Valid driverxe2x80x99s license
