They are a part of a team responsible for providing high-quality programs that contribute to student success, both academic and social and for ensuring that all students learn in a safe and secure environment.SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of Bachelor degree in a relevant discipline
  • Due to VISA requirements 40 years old is the cut off age
  • 5+ Years experience in teaching
  • Teachers registration with necessary body eg SACE
  • Update/acquire First Aid Level 2 certificate with EPIPEN skills.
  • Ability to integrate IT into the curriculum and teaching practice.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students and colleagues
  • Able to manage pastoral issues relative to staff, students and parents through effective dialogue and process.
  • Well-developed report writing and oral communication skills.
  • Up to date knowledge of contemporary teaching application and theory
Package:
  • Earn from $83,000 to $120,000 AUD annually, depending on teaching experience
  • Flights, VISA and accommodation will be covered by you, the candidate

Responsibilities:
  • The role of the teacher includes the following responsibilities:
  • Prepare comprehensive semester planners in line with the departmental policies
  • Follow school policies and procedures with regard to curriculum, student management, monitoring, assessment and reporting
  • Attend all curriculum days (including intercampus curriculum days) throughout the year
  • Ensure that the school and classroom environments are safe, conducive to learning and promote acceptable behaviour
  • Be involved in the pastoral care and counselling of students in conjunction with other appropriate professionals
  • Communicate student progress to parents through weekly work samples or assessments, students books and assessment and reflection folders each term, interviews and formal semester reports
  • Implement (from time to time) extra-curricular activities, extra periods, yard duties, sports duties, school camping activities, supplementary courses, competition preparations, entrance exam duties.
  • Work proactively within a collaborative teaching team
  • Use Information and Communication Technologies to present engaging and challenging learning experiences
  • Plan and present learning experiences that are student centred and outcomes focussed.
  • Closely monitor student progress in each subject area and maintain up-to-date student records on each students learning.
  • Facilitate appropriate individualised remediation and extension activities as required
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Attend relevant seminars and courses to develop current teaching methods
  • Participation in school professional development initiatives and subsequent review
  • Actively provide feedback to improve school professional development programs
  • Participate in subject or departmental meetings focusing on improving practice
  • Contribute to the schools development and evaluation of curriculum, programs and resources
  • Teachers refine their professional knowledge, skills, practice and values in relation to teaching
MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES
  • Conduct parent teacher interviews on a regular basis
  • Attend school, campus and college meetings/briefings throughout the year
  • Undertake yard duties as allocated and other ancillary supervisory duties
  • Attend school functions as required
  • Awareness and contribution to school work health and safety practices
  • Attend school-organised activities relevant to your class
