Description
Aurum Health Institute in South Africa has requested the support of Peace Corps Response Volunteers (PCRVs) to serve as HIV Care M&E Capacity Development Specialist. Aurum's projects are aligned with PEPFAR's aim to support South Africa's National Strategic Plan for HIV and TB and the UNAIDS 90-90-90 goals to end AIDS, through direct service and indirect service support driving to achieve the 90-90-90 targets for epidemic control. Capacity and skills in high-performance M&E are crucially undersupplied in South Africa and additional capacity building, support, and mentoring is required at the district level to support program implementers and direct service delivery staff including data capturers to M&E coordinators and managers.
The PCRV will provide support and strengthen the monitoring and evaluation practices of the local organizations. The PCRV will also work alongside their counterpart to conduct site visit to review on-site practices in the M&E of testing, ARV initiation, patient retention and data quality to inform process improvement initiatives, as well as, train M&E officers and operational managers on M&E tools. The overall goal of this project is to develop a systematic approach for operational data analysis and usage at site level to guide programmatic decision-making.
Candidates selected for this position will be arriving in South Africa together as a group, so while the departure dates for the whole group could change, dates cannot be changed for individual candidates.
