Horticulturalist - 9717 NB - GrabouwFull job descriptionReference: 9717 NBConsultant: Nine Broodryk: Coordinate all new variety evaluations, selective technical field days for growers, field trials when needed, and general support for growers concerning orchard husbandry practises.Carry out preparatory tasks for the pack-shed and at times the execution of field trials on request by the Technical Manager.Collect and capture pre- and post-harvest trial data accurately.Assist in annual administration and tasks, i.e., orchard census, crop estimation, maturity indexing, picking standards and additional tasks as required by the pack-shed.Represent company at industry events related to pre-harvest disciplines.Qualifications:BSc Agriculture DegreeThree to five years of experience is mandatoryMust be computer literateGood knowledge in the field(s) of horticulture (major must) and/or soil science and/or entomologyAbility to handle pressurePhysically fit and healthy to perform the duties as requiredGood observation and problem-solving skills, as well as decision-making abilitiesWillingness to work overtimeMust be willing to do fieldworkGood interpersonal skills (fluent in Afrikaans and English)Valid Driverxe2x80x99s licenseJob Type: Full-time
