Job Summary Background: The Horticulture Operations Manager is responsible for planning and controlling farm/nursery operations in a way that maximizes productivity and output Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and execute farm/nursery operational and sales strategies to achieve increase productivity and reach sales targets and expand customer base. Provide strategic leadership and direction regarding the design of improvements to plant and landscapes. Responsible for all horticulture improvements to the grounds including planting, watering and trimming plants. Build and maintain good relationships with customers and external stakeholders, understand their needs, and provide professional advice and solutions. Research appropriate plants for placement and selling in the farm/nursery. Responsible for managing, supervising, recruiting and training farm/nursery staff. Responsible for liaising with outside contractors as pertains to the Nursery. Ensure farm/nursery tools are available and inspected at all times. Responsible for notifying the farm foreman/manager of any safety hazards. Coordinate and handle customer orders, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
