Summary of functions

The principal objectives of the Hose Assembler will be the execution of required assembly activities to meet customer requirements and perform various assembly and warehousing duties.

Duties

oAssembly of hoses as per company work instructions.

oStock Management which would include ensuring that errors, defects and waste are minimal and continually improved upon.

oAccurate picking of stock as per job cards.

oMaintain effective organisation of material inventories to facilitate efficient use of the space available in the workshop/warehouse/container.

oMaintain assembly equipment and tools to company standards.

oEnsure that all customer requirements are satisfied by ensuring that due date are met and that all orders are correct.

oRespond to technical breakdown and on-site assistance (Callouts).

oAccurate administration relating to stock usage.

oAdhering to company and customer procedures at all times.

oMaintain a hygienic, clean and professional working environment always.

oCleaning and packing of hose assemblies and hose kits as per company work instructions.

oEnsuring that all documentation and procedures are STRICTLY adhered to.

oWork shifts and be able to do standby duties

Competencies / Skills:

oAbility to read and write as acquired through a Secondary school education or equivalent.

oAbility to operate in a self-directed environment and complete tasks on time and thoroughly as assigned.

oAbility to use measuring devices such as a vernier and tapes for measurement of length.

oPerform basic math; convert a decimal to a fraction and plot on a measuring tape

oMaintain workplace according to housekeeping rules.

oAbility to operate various types of assembly equipment, cutting equipment.

oProblem solving skills.

oAbility to work well in teams.

oStrong attention to detail.

oComplete job cards and related administrative duties accurately.

oExtensive knowledge of Hydraulic & Industrial Hose assembly / manufacturing & related products.

oAbility to work flexible work schedules and shifts, including long and/or irregular hours.

Education / Requirements

oCompletion of year 12 High School is essential.

oQualified in Hydraulic & Industrial Hose Assembly - essential.

oPreferably 8 years experience.

oComply with all Health and Safety requirements.

oValid driver's license without endorsements is essential.

oWell rounded, neat and detail orientated.

oHard working.

oNo Criminal records.

oSober habbit.

Special Requirements

oMust live in the Hendrina, Arnot, Middelburg area or willing to move to the area on your own cost.

oHave knowledge of Advertising Company part numbers, essential.
