The Salvation Army Booth Memorial Hospital is seeking a passionate pharmacist to join our team and contribute to the well-being of our patients. Position: Pharmacist Operating Hours:
Contract length: 12 months Salary: From R334,00 per hour Expected hours: 48 per week Ability to Commute:
- Monday, Tuesday, and Friday: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Closed on Wednesdays & Thursdays
- Collaborate with ward staff to ensure timely and accurate dispensing of prescribed medications.
- Handle night schedule drug orders, with Matron/Charge Sister oversight when necessary.
- Conduct quarterly checks of the Drug Register against stock on hand.
- Regularly monitor and manage expiration dates of pharmacy stock, discarding expired items responsibly.
- Inspect and replenish emergency room stock weekly.
- Execute the dispensing of discharge medicine every Tuesday, ensuring clear patient identification and special instructions when necessary.
- Pharmacy access is restricted to authorized personnel only.
- Tuesday is designated for discharge medicine dispensing, typically providing a seven-day supply.
- All orders must be unpacked promptly upon arrival.
- In emergencies, contact Zetler Pharmacy for quick and efficient delivery of requested items.
- Pharmacy orders accepted between Friday and Tuesday.
- Weekly orders for pharmaceutical items, and bi-weekly for non-pharmaceutical items.
