Job Description


  • Payroll
  • Monthly/regular updating and processing of payroll (on Sage Pastel Payroll) for group companies (we have just over 150 staff)
  • Capturing of overtime
  • Checking of leave submitted against clock on and time registers and querying any differences
  • Importing/updating leave from ESS and updating the ESS system with new staff and staff that have left
  • Facilitating updated towards provident funds on Payroll and assisting with monthly uploads
  • Facilitating updates to employee details, FICA details, medical aid details, etc on Payroll and on employee files
  • Capturing AODs, garnishees, corrections and other month-month payroll amounts for monthly processing and filing
  • System updates, backups and roll overs
  • Assist with the EMP201 document to reconcile and submit to HR Manager / CFO for filing
  • Other payroll accounting and processing tasks as might be required from time to time
  • Updating loan and savings schedules monthly
  • Uploading and liaising with medical and provident providers as might be required
  • Generating and processing monthly payroll journals in accounting system and ensuring these remain in balance
  • Submit monthly reports to CFO for review
  • HR
  • Staff take on documents for new staff members
  • Full cycle assistance with staff recruitment (job speck, advertising, reviewing resumes, setting up interviews, offer letters, reference checks, criminal checks, etc) - in conjunction with HR Manager
  • Documentation to facilitate staff exits (UI19, employment letter, exit interviews, etc).
  • Assistance with warnings, disciplinary and liaising with contracted support - with support form HR Manager
  • Updates to record as required
  • Assisting staff with enquiries and requests
  • Assist with learners, FTCs, training programs and other linked administrative tasks
  • Assist with ensuring updated company organogram
  • Assist with implementation and management of KPI systems
  • Assist with high-impact events, for example implementations of new staff management tools and functions, changes in work place, restructuring, an any other events that might from time to time necessitate planning and involvement.
  • Assist with skills and equity plans in line with company and BBBEE principles and requirements with support from third party contracted consultants
  • Assist with WCA annual filings
  • Other
  • Assist with general compliances, documentation preparation and updates from time to time as might be required.
  • Assist with director/shareholder secretarial duties (update FICA documents and certain arrangements or other from time to time)
  • Assist with company events for arrangements and organizing where required
