Job PurposeThe HR Consultant will be responsible for the implementation of all HR processes, projects and activities throughout the life cycle of the employee within allocated departments within a business unit, ensuring sound advice and the seamless and consistent delivery of the services to line management and employees in line with company procedures and compliance standards. This will include the delivery and updating of the HR Information Management System and data integrity; recruitment and selection processes; governance, project and change management & reporting; the implementation of employee relations practices; consultation and advice to line on people management policies and practices; talent and learning practices for the unit; as well as performance consulting, in line with legislation and Sun International standardsKey Performance AreasUnderstand and implement the people strategy in supporting business operations and objectivesConsults to business to understand performance, productivity and other people challenges; and be able to diagnose the issue and provide solutions to improve people practices within allocated departmentsFacilitate all recruitment, selection and assessment processes, including advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checking, vetting and appointments processesFacilitate the relocation and onboarding of employees into the business; ensuring employees experience an onboarding and employment experience in line with Sun Internationals EVP and brandSupervise and participate in the capturing and updating of the HR System in line with operational changes and changes to employees personal information and employment, ensuring data integrity for areas of responsibilityPrepare and administer HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employment, throughout the employee life cyclePrepare relevant paperwork for payroll around staff movements and conditions of employmentProcess and monitor unemployment claims, and disability cases by reviewing claims, recording and filing of documentationCoordinate all admin as it relates to discipline and grievance procedures in allocated departments and ensure proper record keeping as required by legislationHandle escalated HR queries and requests received by the HR office on a daily basis and escalate relevant issues in all areas of HR including bursary applications, medical aid, provident fund, and other relevant programs by advising employees of eligibility; providing application information; helping with form completion; verifying submission; notifying employees of approvals.Understand, be able to explain and answer queries relating to Suns reward and remuneration policies and processesPrepare and submit relevant documentation and update the system with relevant payroll and benefit information, ensuring disputes are resolved timeouslyMonitor Kronos / T&A system and ensure exceptions are cleared and processed correctly in time for the pay run, ensuring any issues are resolved with operational managementWork with management in troubleshooting and resolving employee relations concerns being experienced within the operations including the facilitation of the grievance and disciplinary processes, escalating unresolved issues to managementWork with management and staff to implement the Sun Way Culture and Sun valuesWork with management and staff to administer surveys and facilitate and implement employee engagement projectsUpdate personnel files ensuring these are accurate and complete in readiness for any audit requirementsTrack and report on HR statistics and analytics within areas of responsibility including headcount, leave liabilities, sick leave balances and absenteeism rates, etc; identifying, communicating and collaborating with line on any areas of concern and potential solutions.Compile and track Employment equity and skills development statistics for areas of responsibility, identifying any opportunities for transformation in line with targets and policyBe a change agent and communicate on change plans within areas of responsibility.Participate and assist operators with the implementation of talent and career processesFacilitate the implementation of HR projects and deliver activities and work as defined in the project plan and deadlines, ensuring all relevant stakeholders in the business operations have been consultedParticipate in the organization and implementation of employee events such as long service awards, employee of the month awards, roadshows, etc.Facilitate the performance management process, and assist operators with any challenges or concerns they may have from a process perspectiveTracks and analyses performance results across relevant business areas to identify individual opportunities and performance gaps.Where trends are identified conduct analyses (including observations / interviews) to investigate issues being experienced in the operations, diagnose and identify the root cause of the issue and make recommendations to improve performanceFacilitate learning solutions relevant to identified gapsSupervise the capturing and updating of training events and records in the learning system, ensuring that learners have been correctly captured into the systemTrack skills spend and documentation in areas of responsibility, and provide input on how to improve skill spend, aligned to the business strategyAssist in the compilation of skills development data for reporting purposesCo-ordinate onboarding processes for areas of responsibility with lineCo-ordinate and track learnership contracts and documentation for the business unitStay informed of HR practices, policies and labour legislation and build job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, etc.Build trusted and respected relationships with internal stakeholders, and be a sound and credible counsel for operating teamsMaintains regular communication on current administration and projects status with relevant stakeholdersEducationB Degree in Human Resources Management or same level relevant qualificationExperienceMinimum 5 years' experience in HR, including 3 years' experience as an HR OfficerExperience in the gaming and hospitality industry is an advantageSkills and KnowledgeAnalyzingAssuring qualityCollecting information (sourcing;
