You will actively manage complex issues as they arise and take ownership of the employee life cycle for the relevant business areas and/or geographic location(s). You will actively collaborate with relevant teams including People Partners to provide People Relations Generalist Support, across sites within relevant business areas and/or geographic locations(s), to ensure De Beers Group operates within the legal requirements but also in the spirit of the brand. You will have proven experience of building strong working relationships with business leaders and provide coaching on any organisational change, employee relations and people related issues within stakeholder teams.Key Tasks:People Operations:

  • Ensure that any employee specific changes on benefits or payroll changes are communicated in a timely manner to the HR Operations team to meet monthly deadlines to process them
  • Partner with the business leaders and People Partners with any budget process requirements that they may have in relation to colleague costs
  • Collaborate with the People Partners and/or Reward team to manage the annual pay review process across in relevant business areas and/or geographic location(s)
  • Working in collaboration with the People Relations HR Manager and People Operations Manager, take responsibility to proactively maintain and manage updates to the employee handbooks with legal, compliance or company practices
  • Work with the People Operations team to lead and support in People related projects and initiatives, where relevant
  • Proactively drive continuous improvement in People Relations processes, working closely with broader People Services teams on administration, process or systems support
  • Point of escalation and advisory on complex HR policy and processes for line managers and wider People team
  • Use system data to keep close to core people business indicators and analyse trends to influence management teams (headcount, departmental structures, turnover, absence etc.)
  • Actively support and drive relevant people related projects within People Services / People Relations or the wider business as required, providing input, coaching, expertise and advice as needed.
Compliance and Legal:
  • Provide support and guidance to management, ensuring that informed and statutory/legal/compliance processes are consistently adhered to
  • Maintain statutory compliant documentation and question business case scenarios holistically (e.g. from an immigration or tax angle) as required; collaborate with other business functions as needed
  • Review and maintain People policies and procedures in a timely manner and in line with legislation changes
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of relevant employment legislation
People Partner & Employee Relations Support:
  • Being the Operational and commercial HR Support to People Partners and Business leaders on all People matters
  • Roll out People initiatives and projects into the business (e.g. People related training)
  • Work with the Reward team to launch new or refresh existing Reward and Benefit programs
  • Work with the People Partners and Business leaders to support career progression and development
  • Provide excellent and proactive customer service to the business and anticipate requirements through close collaboration with management and senior People teams
  • Build strong working relationships with people managers and business leaders, partnering with them and providing support/coaching on any organisational change, employee relations and People related issues within their teams
  • Act as the main point of contact and subject matter expert on complex employment cases and projects and provide People related advice as required
  • Actively managing complex issues as they arise, taking ownership to manage end to end, escalating as required
  • Provide guidance and expertise in organisation structure and design to support the goals of the team, department and wider organisation
  • Support the relevant HR teams and Business Leaders with the annual performance review process for relevant business areas and/or geographic location(s)
  • Coach others in decision making and performance setting that mitigates the potential for unconscious bias
Leadership Development:
  • Collaborate with the Talent Centre of Expertise (CoE) to provide coaching to the business and line leaders on all People matters, supporting the development of leadership skills and contributing to brilliant employee experience
  • Collaborate across the People Function to roll out learning content for line leaders in relevant business teams and/or geographic location(s) to improve soft skills and educate on key policies and procedures
  • Collaborate across the People Function to ensure the success of early talent programmes or professional accreditations across the business in relevant teams and/or location(s)
Employee Communication and Engagement:
  • Drive People initiatives with business areas
  • Actively collaborate with People Partners to deliver the Employee Engagement Survey process and respond to feedback and outcomes
  • Support other projects and deliverables as required
Talent Attraction:
  • Collaborate with the Talent team and Talent Acquisition partners and challenge organisational design, considering internal factors and playing a proactive role in assisting the business to explore reasonable alternatives through the talent and succession strategy and share feedback in a timely manner
  • Keep up to date with recruitment by working collaboratively with the Talent acquisition/Recruitment partners, acting as an escalation point if required
  • Attend all relevant senior management and leaders final stage interviews and support managers with training and coaching on best practice recruitment, where applicable, in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team
Other duties:
  • Provide support to the wider People Function and/or business areas as needed
  • Assist with any other duties as reasonably required
  • Provide support to more junior members of the team and acting as a role model/mentor
Qualifications
  • HR or Relevant Degree
  • 5 years experience in People/HR Operations and in client facing roles
Technical Skills:
  • Experience in International environment and complex matrix organisations
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven experience in managing Recruitment campaigns, rolling out L&D initiatives, and excellent knowledge of employee relations management with pragmatic solutions in mind (strong working knowledge of employment law for relevant locations is essential)
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors HCM system and Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience within Retail / Service industry / Luxury environment a plus
  • Fluent spoken and written English
