Main purpose of the role

The HR Generalist is responsible to develop advice on and implement policies relating to the effective use of personnel within an organisation. The role of the Human Resources Generalist is to support the HR Manager in the day-to-day HR management, in accordance with the Groups human resources policies and procedures.

Essential responsibilities and duties

As a HR Generalist, your main responsibilities are as follow:

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT:

  • Follow and manage the organisation training plan process
  • Liaise with managers in identifying an assess training and development needs for their respective department.
  • Ensure that there is a training needs analysis for each department within the organisation
  • Organise, monitor and evaluate training programs to enhance training efficiency
  • Liaise with external training providers and ensure that the service of training provided meets organisation and individual needs and that the providers are registered with
  • Anticipate and assess potential learning needs
  • Propose adequate training in order to facilitate internal mobility
  • Liaise with Faurecia University for possible trainings as per calendar and facilitate the training registration
  • Monitor or track the training progress made and send monthly reminders to managers when training is due as planned
  • Keep training expenses within budget
  • Provide training information and documents to external consultant to submit Workplace Skills Plan and Annual Training Report as per legislation, (Siyaya has taken this role for all Faurecia South Africa)
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS:
  • Advise Managers and Supervisor on Labour Relations issues
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and code of conduct
  • Manage employee discipline, discharge and grievances
  • Conduct employee misconduct internal investigations
  • Draft charges on employees alleged misconduct
  • Coordinate training for Managers and Supervisors on Labour Relations issues
  • Manage companys Labour policies, procedures and forms with assistance of the HR Manager or external Labour Consultant
  • Coordinate union and management meetings (Secretariat role)
FES
  • Supervisor and Gap Leader development guide
  • Operator individual reviews
  • Task transfer list and validation
EMPLOYMENT EQUITY:
  • Manage EE committee and taking of minutes
  • Submitting EE reports to the DOL
  • Participate in the EE planning
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT
  • Ensure that employees objectives are set on a yearly basis (January each year)
  • Ensure that quarterly performance appraisals or reviews are done (online or manually)
  • Coordinate and facilitate communication to all staff on performance issues
  • Providing counselling, guidance and training to management and employees on performance appraisal system or tool initiatives
CHANGE MANAGEMENT & HR PROJECT CHAMPION
  • Support the HR Manager with change management initiatives
  • Develop, maintain and apply change management processes and tools required to support the adoption of the changes required by a project or initiative
  • Support the design, development, delivery and management of change communications across the organization
  • Provide consulting and coaching to project teams regarding change management processes, tools and activities
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with business line staff and change owners
  • Lead by example through demonstration of high performance in the areas of customer service, collaboration, team work, reliability, productivity, and execution
  • Build up a common set of practices, principles and templates for managing projects
  • Responsible for the planning, maintaining, management and reporting of the programme to ensure projects are completed successfully
You may be required to assume reasonable delegation of tasks from your manager; such changes and additional job responsibilities, based on staffing levels will be recorded on a separate delegation form and placed on your employee file.

Qualifications and position requirements
  • Education: Diploma/ B-Tech/ Bachelors degree with specialisation in Human Resources field from an accredited institution.
  • Knowledge and experience :
  • Minimum of 3years experience in Human Resource Administration/ as an HR generalist.
  • At least 2-3 years in the HR function with experience in training and development
  • Proven experience of HRIS ideally SAP
  • Proven experience in MS Office utilization
  • Independent team player and demonstrating good initiative
  • Proven analytical ability
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with customers
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Languages: English

Special authority (Please specify external and internal authority I have)

External authority

Should you hold a specific Senior Management position, you will receive your power of authority from the Faurecia Board of Directors. A copy of the Directors resolution as well as the matrix reflecting the Proxy holders signature as acceptance of the delegation will be placed in the employee file.

Internal authority

Delegation for Financial Matters needs to be accepted and signed by the employee as well as by the N+1 who would have received the same delegation from their N+1. A copy of the matrix will be placed in the employee file.

Delegation for Banking Release and Banking System Administrator is given by two Senior Managers. A separate matrix is signed by the delegators as well as the proxy holders, and placed on the employee file.
