Durban - KwaZulu NatalHR / Payroll Administrator - Durban NorthLevel: Entry levelThe HR / Payroll Administrator ensures the accurate and timely processing of payroll, including the calculation of wages, tax deductions. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll regulations and procedures.Duties & Responsibilities

  • Process Payroll: Manage and process payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy in wage calculations, tax deductions.
  • Process all union and bargaining council forms, i.e. adding new employees, employees leaving and all relevant docs for the NBC.
  • Responsible for HR administrative tasks.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with laws regarding payroll and best practices.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and update payroll records and reports, including attendance, time-off balances, and payroll summaries and all leave forms.
  • Employee Inquiries: Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees in a timely manner.
  • System Management: Manage and update payroll systems and software to ensure efficient processing.
  • Processing of Bargaining Council and Union fees with weekly payroll runs.
  • Required to do miscellaneous admin Motor vehicles licencing, fuel cards, dealing with insurance claims, ordering of stationery and other office duties i.e. logging of faults with IT, municipality as and when required.
Desired Experience & Qualification
  • Education: Payroll, HR Diploma, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years Proven experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar role in the clothing / retail industry.
  • Knowledge: Thorough understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations.
  • Union and National Bargaining Council experience is a must.
  • Experience with Jarrison clocking system.
  • Must have Basic knowledge of HR-related legislation.
Skills:
  • Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., SAGE) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with Simple Pay payroll software advantageous.
  • Attention to Detail: High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Must be able to handle warehouse queries.
  • Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Good people skills and must be an individual thats highly personable, great personality.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and being able to cope with deadlines and being able to multitask.
  • Good organisational skills.
