Job Description


:Our client requires a Human Resource Manager to develop and implement a sound human resources function for business, in such a way that it contributes to the profitability of the company. Full-time, in-office.The candidate will be responsible as a member of the management team for the maintenance, implementation and execution of sound practices in all aspects of human management and in particular for administration, labour relations and welfare.Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the Payroll function.
  • Manage Industrial Relations.
  • Manage the Personnel Administration function.
  • Manage the Disciplinary function.
  • Manage Employee Performance programmes.
  • Implement and oversee Personnel Policy and Procedures.
  • Manage Employee Wellness.
  • Manage Employee Welfare benefits
Management of HR information systems:
  • Authorise appointment of all staff in the department.
  • Provide guidelines and sets deadlines for staff.
  • Handle departmental complaints.
  • Conduct discipline as necessary with staff.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and proposes salary increments for people reporting to the incumbent.
  • Advise and assist where necessary, direct subordinates with evaluation of their staff and salary proposals.
  • Manage all departmental activities including coordination of team inputs.
  • Lead the development of the HR departmentxe2x80x99s goals, objectives and action plans.
  • Provide strategic leadership.
  • Establishe HR measures that support the accomplishment of the GABS strategic goals.
  • Management of HR information systems.
  • Conduct quality assurance audits.
  • Oversees stock and inventory management.
Management of industrial relations policies and procedures
  • Conduct research, benchmark and amend IR policies and procedures.
  • Guide compliance with IR policies and procedures.
  • Manage Union relations.
  • Administer IR documentation.
  • Manage Grievance and Discipline according to policy.
  • Provide guidance and counseling to employees.
  • Assess and reports on organisational IR climate.
  • Advise management on the interpretation of HR policies.
  • Interpret and implements all labour-related legislation.
  • Handle incapacity cases.
  • Monitor and advises managers and supervisors in progressive discipline.
Management of the personnel administration function
  • Conduct audits on personal employee records.
  • Oversee management of salary and wage administration.
  • Managesthe functional components of SAP HR/payroll module.
  • Manage Bus passes in conjunction with the AFC Administrator.
  • Administer annual salary and wage increments.
  • Oversee security and confidentiality of personnel records.
  • Compliance with all legal and company procedures and policies relating to HR administration.
Management of the Disciplinary function
  • Management of Company Representatives.
  • Allocate, monitor and report on all disciplinary cases.
  • Oversee all appeal processes.
  • Manage the Grievance Procedure.
  • Coordinate processes for complex hearings.
  • Ensure all discipline is done within a reasonable time.
  • Ensure all discipline outcomes are timeously recorded
Authorises financial assistance
  • Manage financial assistance policies and procedures.
  • Authorise direct and supplier payments and loans
Implements and monitors personnel policy and procedures
  • Researche, benchmarks and customise all HR policies.
  • Control and manage Staff establishment budget.
  • Formulate policies.
  • Communicate policy changes.
  • Monitor application of policies.
  • Manage the documentation of and access to all company policies and procedures.
Manages Organisational Wellness
  • Custodian of Employee Assistance Programmes.
  • Provide decisions on Policy Implementation.
  • Manage and supervise Occupational Nurses and Social Workers.
Manages Organisational Human Capital Development
  • Liaise with Pension Retirement and Medical Benefit Funds.
  • Management of the Accelerated Development Programme candidates.
  • Management of Performance Management Systems.
  • Authorise all vacancies to be filled.
  • Conduct interviews of Extended Management appointees
Requirements
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification.
  • Registration with an HR or related professional body is advantageous.
  • 8 years' relevant experience in a management / supervisory capacity.
  • Remuneration and benefits administration.
  • SAP HR Module Processes.
  • Advanced Excel Skills.
  • Organisational / Management Development practices.
  • Wellness and employee Assistance programmes.
  • Labour legislation.
  • Trade Union dynamics.
