Position TitleHuman Resources Business PartnerLocationKZN Sands (Central Processing Complex, CPC)Position OverviewThis role is responsible for aligning HR strategies with business goals and acting as a strategic partner to management.Primary ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate:Business Partnership
  • Operationalize Tronox HR Strategy, Policies & Procedures in area of responsibility.
  • Provide a professional HR consulting service to the allocated Business Unit(s)
  • Partner with Line Managers in the management of employment costs, time and attendance and contractor management
  • Establish professional networks and contribute towards alignment of HR Practices to sector best practices.
Talent Management and Culture
  • Operationalize Tronox Talent Management processes in area of responsibility.
  • Advise on long & short lists for selection purposes & align to EE plan.
  • Contribute towards effective management of change
  • In partnership with the HR Manager, support allocated Business Units in effective management of corporate processes, in line with the corporate calendar, including but not limited to, workforce planning, promotion and progression, succession planning, end of year reviews and compensation processes.
Compliance, Governance and Assurance
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable legislation in area of responsibility, including the LRA, BCEA, Mining Charter & relevant Codes of Good Practice.
  • Ensures execution of Employment Equity, Diversity and all initiatives which support the Transformation agenda is close partnership with leaders and Line Managers.
  • Ensures execution of HR commitments on the SLP, for area of responsibility.
  • Identify and highlight people risks, including risks associate with non-compliance with legislation in area of responsibility.
Leadership and Culture
  • In partnership with the Learning and Development and Talent functions, support all leadership and culture initiatives within Tronox, including leadership development, coaching and 360-degree feedback processes.
  • Contribute towards robust changes management plans to support all planned changes in area of responsibility
  • Support all initiatives aimed at embedding Tronox values and outward mindset
Employee Relations
  • Overall responsibility for an ER climate which support organizational goals and is in line with the values of Tronox in area of responsibility, in partnership with the HR Manager and Employee Relations Advisor.
  • Contribute towards coaching and education of Line Managers on appropriate employee relations approaches, in line with Tronox values, policies and applicable legislation,
Organization Design and Data Management
  • Ensure adherence to the business unit organization design and contribute towards all conversations linked to organizational design
  • Ensure that all org and people data is accurate both in Tronox systems and all applicable documents
  • Support all optimization initiatives and ensure appropriate change management methodology is applied
  • Support revision of role profiles or drafting of new ones where appropriate
  • Responsible for the development of career paths for individuals in area of responsibility.
  • Validating data integrity in area(s) of responsibility.
  • Oversee all master data changes in systems and data integrity in area of responsibility
Financial Control
  • Contribute towards development and effective management of budgets
  • Contribute towards effective management of employment and other costs, in business units supported as well as HR.
HR Administration
  • Monitor the provision of HR administration support for the business, encompassing HR record maintenance, leave administration, HR system maintenance and administration, and payroll administration.
  • Support and develop subordinates to ensure optimal delivery of HR Administration in support of the full employee life cycle
  • Support and ensure excellent delivery of all administration linked to onboarding new staff members
  • Support and ensure excellent delivery of all administration linked to off boarding staff members, including management of termination and all administration linked to death(s) of staff members
Health, Safety, Environment and Learning
  • Adhere to Safety & Health program goals & objectives.
  • Support subordinates in understanding of organizational Health and Safety requirements
  • Support all audit processes, including but not limited to compliance with ISO requirements, Safety, Health, and SLP audits.
  • Adhere to the company's environmental management program & objectives according to legislation
  • Take part in relevant internal forums to identify best practices across functions
  • Participates & contributes to relevant industry forums & network groups.
  • Fosters close working relationships with line management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Human Resources Management or Organizational Psychology (NQF level 7)
  • Post graduate degree / Honors will be an added advantage
  • Registration with a Human Resource professional body would be advantageous
  • 8-10 years experience as a Human Resource Generalist, preferably in the Mining Industry
  • Drivers license and own vehicle required
  • MS Office Suite
  • Experience using HR information systems (e.g. SuccessFactors)
  • Previous experience of reviewing Payroll and overseeing HR controls
  • Ability to contribute and lead in different disciplines within HR, including but not limited to compensation, organizational development, employee (union relations), diversity, job evaluation, and performance management
  • Working knowledge of applicable legislation
  • Hands-on experience in end-to-end recruitment process
