Position TitleHuman Resources ManagerLocationSouth Africa, KZNPosition OverviewThis position will be responsible for any planning regarding the human resources and development of a companys workforce, and they must be able to transform all policies into executable plans and departmental procedures. He/she will be responsible for managing and coordinating the company's Human Resources Business Partner function to meet the companys business requirements. To align and execute the HR strategy for the Business which supports the South Africa HR strategy to ensure that business objectives are met.Primary ResponsibilitiesThis role is accountable for:
  • Provides coaching and advice to management on a variety of people issues regarding personnel practices and employment law.
  • Challenges the organizational structure of the internal client and proposes changes.
  • Works within corporate strategies and policy frameworks to design and implement human resources strategies.
  • Develops guidelines and procedures which assist line management in implementing human resources programs.
  • Ensures compliance of the organizations practices with applicable labour legislation and collective labour agreements.
  • Manages and motivates subordinate staff; reviews and assesses performance, builds employee capacity.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues.
  • Secures professional legal support from internal or external legal counsel as required.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Coaches and develops others' abilities to support business partnering across multiple areas and assignments.
  • Monitors industry for developments in business partnering best practices and consulting support tools.
  • Champions the role of business partnering and internal consulting and ensures others understand the critical importance of clear, client-focused communication.
  • Partners with and consults to senior business executives on own functional specialty.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Honours Degree or equivalent in HR Management, NQF Level 8 (Mandatory)
  • 8 - 10 years Relevant in HR operations (Mandatory)
  • 3 years leadership experience (Mandatory)
  • 5 - 8 years experience as a Human Resource Generalist preferably in the Mining or related Industry (Mandatory)
  • Knowledge and proven track record in implementation of impactful HR development and workplace programmes (e.g., employee relations, employment equity, talent, organizational effectiveness & development, engagement)
  • Business partnering experience (Executive level)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and coaching abilities
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with employees at all levels
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in managing HR processes and data
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations, identify issues, and develop and implement solutions
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS systems
