Purpose of the role: The Human Resource Officer's purpose is to oversee the HR department in line with company goals, acting as the main point of contact for all HR matters and ensuring timely resolution of inquiries. They implement HR practices compliant with legal standards, prioritize employee health and safety, and cultivate an employee-centric culture focused on quality, development, and performance. This role aligns HR strategies with business objectives, maintains legal compliance, promotes the company's mission, fosters a positive workplace culture, and offers HR support to management and staff. Duties/Responsibilities: Work closely with the leadership team to understand and execute the organisations objectives toward HR and talent strategy. RECRUITMENT AND ONBOARDING Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making job offers. Collaborate with department managers to identify staffing needs and develop recruitment strategies. Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations during the recruitment process. Drawing up of offer letters, agreements, SLAs and necessary paperwork. Onboarding staff properly and in all departments. Welcoming new staff and ensuring they settle into the role. EMPLOYEE RELATIONS Act as a point of contact for employees to raise grievances or concerns in a confidential and non-discriminatory manner. Facilitate the resolution of workplace disputes through formal and informal processes, ensuring adherence to labour laws and procedural fairness. Document all grievance and dispute resolution processes for legal compliance. Foster a positive work environment through employee engagement initiatives and activities. POLICIES & PROCEDURES Ensure strict adherence to South African labour legislation, including the Labour Relations Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act, Employment Equity Act, and Occupational Health and Safety Act. Collaborate with the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and the Department of Labour (DOL) to meet tax and regulatory compliance requirements, such as UIF (Unemployment Insurance Fund) and COIDA (Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act) contributions. Draw up and update policies and procedures to align with company objectives and in alignment with South African labour laws. Ensure policies are communicated to all employees and implemented consistently across the organization. PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT Implement and oversee performance management processes, including goal-setting, performance evaluations, and feedback sessions. Provide training and support to managers and employees on performance management best practices. Identify opportunities for employee development and career advancement. Assisting with KPIs and KPIs for employees and departments. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Coordinate and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and competencies. Develop training materials and resources tailored to the needs of different departments. Track training initiatives and evaluate their effectiveness in meeting organizational objectives. Assist with the administration of employee equity programs, including stock options and grants. Prepare and submit annual Employment Equity reports as required by the Employment Equity Act to demonstrate progress in achieving employment equity targets. Requirements: Essential: NSC - Matric Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field. / Diploma or as required. Proven experience working as an HR Officer. 4-5 years of experience linked to salary on offer.
