JHB North, Johannesburg - GautengICT Technician: Infrastructure Support Johannesburg 12 month FTCSalary: R354,448.08pa CTCOverview:The ICT Technician is responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for desktop computers, laptops, peripherals, and software applications within the organization. The role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, ensuring the smooth operation of end-user devices, and assisting in IT-related projects.Minimum Requirements and Experience

• National Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Certification in CompTIA A+
• ITIL Foundation
• Certification in CompTIA N+ will be advantageous.
• 1+ years of experience in desktop support, ICT Technician, or a similar role.
• 1+ years of Microsoft 365: Desktop Administrator and Azure platform
• Knowledge of:

• Maintenance, and troubleshooting of virtual environments (e.g. VMware).
• Minimum knowledge of:

• Microsoft Active Directory and Azure Platform (User management, Group Policies, Access Controls).
• Hardware Installations, Configurations, Support, Troubleshooting, and Administration (Desktop and Laptop, switches and Network Peripherals)

Key Performance Areas:Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide technical support to users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Diagnose and resolve technical problems, escalating complex issues to higher-level support teams when necessary.
• Assist users with software installations, updates, and troubleshooting.
• Configure and deploy new desktops, laptops, and peripherals.
• Perform routine maintenance on desktop systems, ensuring optimal performance.
• Manage the installation and configuration of operating systems, applications, and security updates.

Desktop support:

• Assist co-workers with computer systems operations including setup of new computers, maintenance; hardware purchasing, shipping, receiving; and hardware/software installations.
• Provide on-call support (telephone, face-to-face and online support on systems)
• Investigate and follow up on all incidents logged on the fault logging system
• Assist the ICT Specialist with ICT audits on systems and infrastructure management.
• Implement the Operational Level Agreements (OLAs) for systems supported.
• Assist with on boarding of new users and exits.

ICT Assets Management:

• Assist with the management of ICT Assets.
• Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and track hardware lifecycle.
• Track hardware lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
• Conduct regular ICT asset audits and ensure compliance with asset management policies.
• Work with finance and procurement teams to manage ICT asset disposal.

Printing Services:

• Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network printers and multifunction devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve printing-related issues, including connectivity, driver compatibility, and user access.
• Ensure secure printing configurations and enforce print management policies.
• Work with vendors to manage printer consumables and service contracts.
