This role includes coordinating all aspects of import and export activities within the FMCG /Foods / Beverage industry. Suitable candidates need to have a degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing or similar.Responsibilities:Logistics Management:Coordinate and manage the logistics of importing and exporting goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement of products.Customs Compliance:Ensure compliance with all customs regulations, tariffs and trade laws to facilitate smooth import and export operations.Documentation:Prepare and manage all required import and export documentation, including shipping documents, customs declarations and certificates of origin.Carrier and Supplier Coordination:Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders and suppliers to negotiate rates, select transportation modes and optimise delivery schedules.Tariff Classification:Accurately classify products according to tariff codes and maintain up-to-date knowledge of international trade regulations.Risk Management:Identify and assess potential risks associated with international shipments and implement strategies to mitigate risks.Cost Optimisation:Work to optimise import and export costs, negotiating favorable terms with carriers and suppliers.Regulatory Compliance:Stay informed about changes in import/export regulations and ensure adherence to relevant industry standards.Communication and Reporting:Communicate effectively with internal teams, customs officials and other stakeholders.Provide regular reports to management on import/export performance, costs and compliance.Requirements Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing or similar.Proven experience as an Import and Export Controller within the FMCG/Foods/Beverage industry.In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures and logistics management.Strong understanding of tariff classifications and import/export documentation.Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to build effective relationships with carriers and suppliers.Familiarity with relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.Analytical mindset with attention to detail in documentation and risk assessment.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.Proficient in using relevant software and systems for import/export management.
