Our client, a thriving and innovative company in South Africa, is seeking an experienced Imports Controller to join their dynamic team.About the Role:As an Imports Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of imported goods while maintaining compliance with all import regulations and requirements. • Opening SKU# on Pastel Evolution and generating shipping marks
• Handling imports ordering and matching supplier costs
• Registering order files and updating import shipping schedules
• Compiling estimated landed costs for new and existing product lines
• Coordinating with clearing and forwarding agents for inbound shipments
• Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and third-party service providers
• Collecting samples from international suppliers
• Reporting expected arrival times to the sales team and advising on any delays
• Preparing detailed costing schedules for each shipment
• Managing production lead times with suppliers and ensuring proper inspection and packing of goods
• Ensuring compliance with shipping documents and regulatory requirements
• Authorizing draft entries (SAD500) and resolving customs queries
• Coordinating delivery of shipments to and from the warehouse
• Reporting to the Import Manager

Skills and Experience:

• Analytical skills and finance expertise
• Strong communication abilities
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Hands-on approach to SOP
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of LOA application to NRCS (advantageous)
• Knowledge of ICASA application (advantageous)
• Experience with SAGE Evolution (beneficial)
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office
