Job Description


Ecolab is looking for an experienced Indirect Channel Sales Manager to lead and manage our indirect sales channels and distributor networks across multiple countries. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing both direct and indirect business, sales, and service corporate accounts and contracts, with a proven track record of driving growth and achieving sales targets in corporate accounts. Experience managing business in Africa is essential.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategic plans to manage and grow indirect sales channels and distributor networks.Oversee sales and service contracts, ensuring compliance and alignment with company policies and objectives.Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, partners, and corporate accounts.Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and customer satisfaction.Provide training and support to distributors and partners to enhance their sales capabilities and performance.Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to senior management.Manage budgets and resources effectively to achieve sales targets and maximize profitability.What You Will Do:1. Develop and implement a comprehensive channel sales strategy, aimed at maximizing revenue and market share in target countries.2. Identify, recruit, and onboard new local distributors, while maintaining and nurturing existing relationships.3. Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, product development, customer service) to create and execute effective sales and marketing campaigns tailored to each region.4. Set and monitor sales targets and KPIs for local distributors, providing guidance and support to ensure they achieve their objectives.5. Conduct regular business reviews with distributors to assess performance, identify growth opportunities, and address any issues or challenges.6. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our products and services, as well as the competitive landscape in each market.7. Provide feedback and market intelligence to the wider organization, driving continuous improvement and innovation.8. Coordinate with the finance and legal departments to ensure smooth contract negotiations and compliance with local regulations.9. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers within the target markets.10. Manage any conflicts or disputes that may arise between distributors or with end customers, ensuring a swift and satisfactory resolution.Experience:At least 10-13 years of experience in managing direct and indirect business, distributors, and sales and service contracts across different countries and corporate accounts in Africa.French Language is a plus.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degreeFive years of technical sales or field sales support experiencePossess a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.Preferred Qualifications:Bachelorxe2x80x99s degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, industrial) or life sciences (biology, chemistry, etc.)Water treatment or specialty chemical industry experienceWorking knowledge of
boilers, cooling towers, and wastewater treatment systems
OR
paper machine operations, wet end chemistry, pulp mill operations
operations, wet end chemistry, pulp mill operations.10+ years of experience in Sales or business development, preferably within the industry we operate in.Proven track record of managing and growing business, with a focus on local distributors.Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse cultures and business practices.
