Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Design and engineer display stands, lightboxes, shopfitting, and various POP displays.
• Develop and maintain detailed Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Conduct cost analysis and develop costing drawings.
• Source components, suppliers, and manufacturing processes for projects.
• Prototype products to ensure design intent and functionality.
• Implement value engineering to deliver cost-effective products.
• Develop products with short lead times while ensuring quality standards.
• Specify materials and collaborate with suppliers on manufacturing processes.
• Create detailed technical drawings as a draughtsman.
• Oversee and manage production and manufacturing processes to ensure efficient operations.
• Implement and maintain structured file management and filing systems.
• Analyze ongoing projects in real time, providing proactive solutions to keep projects within deadlines.
• Capture and document process improvements through closure reports, feeding data into a process archive to increase overall efficiency.
• Foster collaboration across all manufacturing processes to create a structured and efficient production line.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualifications: BTech Degree / BEng in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Design.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in industrial design or product engineering.
• Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is essential.
• Experience in the steel manufacturing industry is preferred.
• Matric / Grade 12 certificate.
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong knowledge of prototyping, BOM development, and value engineering.
• Excellent organizational skills and experience with structured file management systems.
