Our client in the ICT Distribution industry is currently looking for a Infrastructure Tier 2 Engineer, in Midrand, Johannesburg.Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and storage systems.
• Provide advanced support for IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems etc.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated issues from Tier 1 support and NOC team.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Perform regular system maintenance and updates to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement security measures to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
• Manage and maintain virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Collaborate with other IT team members to support and improve IT services.
• Assist in the deployment and configuration of new infrastructure components.
• Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
• Document IT infrastructure configurations and procedures.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching, as well as server hardware and storage solutions.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Preferred certifications include CompTIA Network+, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert, and Fortinet Network Security Professional (NSE 4)
• On-call availability for emergency situations

• Dependent on qualification and experience.
