The In-House Assistant Security Manager is responsible for assisting in the overall security operations of The Cradle Boutique Hotel and Nature Reserve. This role ensures the safety and security of guests, employees, and assets by implementing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and emergency response plans. The Assistant Security Manager will work closely with the Security Manager to oversee security personnel, conduct investigations, and enforce security protocols in accordance with company policies. The Assistant Security Manager will be required to work in both hotel and nature reserve environments, which involve outdoor patrols, responding to wildlife-related incidents, and engaging with guests and staff in various areas of the property.
Key Responsibilities:
Security Operations:
Assist in managing and coordinating daily security operations across the hotel and nature reserve.
Monitor surveillance systems, patrol reports, and security logs to identify potential risks.
Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
Emergency Response & Risk Management:
Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans for fire, medical, and security incidents.
Coordinate and participate in emergency drills and staff training sessions.
Act as a key contact during security incidents, ensuring proper documentation and resolution.
Supervision & Training:
Assist in overseeing the security team, ensuring proper shift coverage and performance.
Conduct security briefings and training sessions for security staff and other employees.
Monitor the performance and discipline of security personnel, reporting any issues to the Security Manager.
Access Control & Surveillance:
Ensure that access control measures are properly implemented to safeguard guests, staff, and property.
Oversee the use of CCTV and other surveillance equipment to monitor activity and respond to security threats.
Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
Investigations & Incident Reporting:
Conduct investigations into security incidents, thefts, and breaches.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation on security-related matters.
Liaise with local law enforcement when required.
Guest & Staff Safety:
Ensure that security measures align with providing a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
Address security concerns raised by employees and guests promptly and professionally.
Requirements:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in security management, preferably in a hotel, nature reserve, or similar environment.
PSIRA Grade A qualified.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
Experience in handling security technologies such as CCTV, access control systems, and alarm systems.
Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Physically fit and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and night shifts if required.
The role requires working on weekends, holidays, nights and during emergencies.
