A leading provider of advanced drilling solutions to the mining sector is seeking a technically skilled Engineer or Instrumentation Technician with a background in automation, instrumentation, or robotics. The role involves operating cutting-edge robotic drill rigs and contributing to R&D initiatives that drive innovation and efficiency.   • Operate and manage the robotic drill rigs with precision and safety, ensuring all operations align with project objectives and compliance standards.
  • Participate in comprehensive training programs covering the control systems of the machine, drilling methodology, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with the research and development team to identify opportunities for improvements and innovations in drilling technology.
  • Contribute technical expertise to the design and implementation of upgrades and modifications to the robotic drill rigs.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance of the machinery.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation on drilling operations, findings, and equipment status for internal review and continuous improvement.
  • Travel to various project sites, including remote locations, as required to meet operational needs and project objectives.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide technical support and ensure satisfaction with drilling operations and outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
  • Instrumentation qualifications with specific focus on automation and robotics.
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronic) will be advantageous
  • Strong technical acumen and ability to grasp complex engineering concepts.
  • Experience in operating or maintaining heavy machinery, robotics, or similar technologies is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Willingness to undergo specialized training on the operation and maintenance of robotic drill rigs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce comprehensive technical reports.
  • Availability to travel to remote sites as required by project demands.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and environmental responsibility.
