Busy company based in Germiston is looking for a Senior Boiler Maker. This person will be the head of the welding department. Must have good communication skill (verbal and written)
Salary - R17000.00
Requirements: 
Grade 12
Qualified boilermaker | previous boiler-making exp.
2-year experience in a similar role.
Good managerial skills, able to manage 20 employees at any given time 
CO2 welding experience.
Jig manufacturing experience.
Good technical background (Weld penetration, spatter reduction, welding machine maintenance).
Scanning experience will be an added advantage.
Computer literate (excel).
Willing & able to learn from other departments, sheet metal workers, powder coating and roll forming.
Able to read assembly- and manufacturing drawings.
Knowledge of proper welding preparation techniques.
In time for shift and meetings.
Forklift licence will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities: 
Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned shift/employees to achieve the required quality and production goals. 
Maintain department records and inventories. 
Manage the movement of products through the production area.
Ensure that staff reporting to you reaches the set targets. 
Couch, council, and reprimand employees due to shortfalls.
Plan and organize work for smooth operations. (daily, weekly, monthly)
Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum throughput and quality.
Monitor to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and the plant's safety program.
Calculate material requirement and requisition 
Work with employees to resolve technical and personnel problems.
Schedule employees to effectively meet operational requirements. 
Provide the shift to shift communication link in order to keep all team members working toward the same goals. 
Communicate with employees all issues that affect the plant department.
Perform time and attendance check on start-up and after breaks.
Reprimand employees not adhering to company policy,
Perform stock take as and when required.
Control stock warehouse & ensure that it is maintained continually 
Ensure there are sufficient consumables in stock, welding gas, tips, PPE.
Set-up jigs & ensures good quality product are being produced 
Perform first off and regular quality checks. According to drawing, no spatter, weld quality. Record quality checks daily.
Perform other duties as assigned by the associate manager.
Responsible for maintenance of welding machines, equipment etcetera.Maintenance job cards to be completed and handed to Maintenance team within a timely manner.
Syspro scan start a job when a job is started and scan complete as soon as the job is done.
Ensure all work is completed in time, 1st time right.
Supervise/manage staff late and on weekends as and when required.
Ensure all staff comply to company & national health & safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment
