A company based in Umhlanga is looking for a Senior Bookkeeper.
Before you apply please note the following: *Must be available to start within a week or two notice, not negotiable. Salary : R20 000 - R30 000 - Negotiable depending on experience
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled on a timely basis.
• Prepare financial statements, such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Prepare Trial Balances for the Accountants.
• Manage the organization's budget, monitor expenditures, and ensure compliance with budgetary guidelines.
• Coordinate and work with external auditors during the annual audit process.
• Participate in financial planning and forecasting activities.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes and procedures to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Manage and lead the accounting team, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to perform their roles effectively.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and consistency in all areas of the business.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Identify areas for financial improvement and implement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, accountants, and other financial institutions.
• Completing analysis of the employee expenditures.
• Managing income and expenditure accounts.
• Preparing Management Accounts to present to Senior Management monthly.
• Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations in accordance with SARS.
• Assisting in financial activities such as running payroll and generating invoices.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and standards.
• Experience managing a team and collaborating with other departments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Pastel Evolution, Pastel Payroll and Microsoft Office including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
