FAMSA Western Cape seeks to employ a Social Work Intern on a 3-Year SETA funded internship programme, based at the community offices.

The Social Work Intern will form part of FAMSA WC's community offices clinical team. They will work under supervision of a FAMSA WC social worker. Note, you will be contracted and the stipend paid by Konke Business Solutions as an intern. FAMSA WC will be the host organization for the internship, and you will report operationally to FAMSA WC.

The social work intern will work in our community offices (Khayelitsha, Mitchells Plain, Factreton, Bishop Lavis or Dunoon) as required.

Requirements:



You should

not

currently be part of a SETA funded internship program not participated in one in the last 24 months. Completed a

Social Work Degree

NQF Level 7 or above.

Registered with the SACSSP

or proof that you have started the registration process. Fluency in English. More languages will be advantageous. Computer literate. Planning, coordinating and organizing skills. Excellent time management skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Able to work well in a team and independently. Emotional maturity / stability. Attention to detail and comprehensive in completion work tasks. Meeting of deadlines. Adaptability and flexibility. Responsibility and reliability re use of official work time. Valid driver's license advantageous.

Roles and Responsibilities:



The successful candidate will be responsible for (but not limited to):

Do short term individual, couple and family counselling, trauma counselling/support at the Factreton office and other FAMSA Western Cape offices when required. Talks and workshops within communities. Providing talks and informational sessions. Media interviews, stakeholder meetings and networking as required. Involvement with organizational fundraising initiatives as required. Timeous and accurate reporting. Participate in special projects as required.

Please note:



This position forms part of an Internship Programme administered by Konke Business Solutions. The successful candidate will be contracted and paid by Konke Business Solutions. FAMSA WC will be the hosting organization for the Intern. This is a three-year programme not guaranteeing further employment with FAMSA WC on conclusion of the internship.

The successful candidate will attend orientation and training with Konke Business Solutions during May.*
