DUTIES Implement Internal Control over Financial Reporting Structure and its Upstream Processes xefx83x98 Develop and document a comprehensive internal control framework. xefx83x98 Perform and document walkthroughs of all the Companys processes. xefx83x98 Identify and document key controls. xefx83x98 Map key controls to the COSO framework to assess coverage. xefx83x98 Identify control gaps and offer solutions. xefx83x98 Deploy new controls and provide training as necessary. xefx83x98 Establish consensus with key control owners. Financial Reporting xefx83x98 Assist the CFO in the preparation of management accounts and annual financial statements, including notes disclosures. xefx83x98 Support the CFO in the preparation of quarterly board reports. SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS Applicants should demonstrate their ability to: xefx83x98 Self-start and work independently with limited oversight. xefx83x98 Manage multiple concurrent deadlines, and prioritize workload. xefx83x98 Start from scratch and build something brand new. Work successfully in an ambiguous environment. xefx83x98 Convey verbal and written messages in a clear and concise manner. xefx83x98 Engage with accountants and non-accountants across multiple functional units. The Company is seeking candidates with the following qualifications: xefx83x98 CA (SA) certification required (non-negotiable). xefx83x98 IIA certification in addition to CA(SA) certification is a plus. xefx83x98 At least two years post SAICA articles experience. xefx83x98 Similar industry experience many also be considered suitable for this role ie similar or equivalent role in another insurer will be considered. xefx83x98 Background in the financial services industry, and familiarity with internal controls common to insurers is a plus. xefx83x98 Advanced computer literacy including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, especially excel. xefx83x98 Willingness to travel within South Africa at least twice a year.The Recruitment CouncilRecruiter
