Internal Sales Representative Automotive Industry BenoniCompany that caters for the performance vehicle industry with a retail and online shop as well as a workshop is seeking a welcoming, driven, focused, have integrity, strong character & not easily influenced by others, have common sense and a Fast learner to join their team as an internal sales representativeMinimum requirements:

  • Matric | Grade 12
  • Retail sales with technical knowledge of vehicles
  • Vehicle engine / technical knowledge (makes communication with customers and assisting them easier)
  • Fluent in English | Ability to speak / understand Afrikaans
  • Computer literate
  • Valid SA Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle
  • Age 25+
General:
  • Working hours: 8H00 to 17H00 Monday to Friday with lunch/tea breaks per BECA.
  • Must be able to get to and from work without issues Reliable vehicle.
  • Company closure in December of each year.
  • Stock Take on a Saturday twice a year.
  • Required to attend exhibitions, DYNO days, Race event when arranged.
  • Annual Leave / Family Responsibility / Sick per BECA.
  • PA - twice a year.
  • Bonus/Increases subjected to Company performance, Own performance (PA) & Management.
  • Remuneration Date: 25th of the month or the nearest working day to the 25th.
  • Dress Code: Working clothing decent and presentable.
  • Preferably: Non-smoker.
Daily Job expectations:Retail Sales -Welcoming customers, assisting customer with their required purchases & Technical advice,Open a profile on system if not previously created.Raising the sale of products via invoice.Receiving the products on the invoice from the designated person handing Stock Room,Check before or with customer that the stock received is correct and is as per invoice.Receive payment being via Cash, Card machine, EFT.Ensure product/ stock does not leave the Company without payment being received.Close off the sale on invoicing system.Invoice and supplier invoices to be handed over to Finance Department for processing.Online Sales -For orders placed by customers themselves online, there will be no involvement by the sales team.The sales team may if they wish would monitor the online orders and contact the customer to upsell or confirm with the customer to correct their order should it be deemed that they have purchased incorrect goodsQuotations -A customer may request a quotation themselves on the system.
These quotations are to be followed up daily for the purpose of converting to a saleGet the lead time and availability information ready beforehand to convince the customer to make the sale.Assisting customers with telephonic sales -Some of the customers may call first to confirm stock availability, lead times or product information.They could request that you raise the purchase on their behalf.Receive all information required on our invoicing system to furnish them with an invoiceLeads and After Sales ServiceResearch companies who require our products and services and promote our offering.Follow up with customers a week post sale to find out if they are happy with their product and if they require any additional productsCall vehicle modifying companies found on social media to expand on our customer base for the business.Customer visits (Once you confident in your positions with preplanned agenda)General Sales Expectations :
  • Suggestions to Management regarding new business, sales & advertising of the Company.
  • To be at work daily, retail counter and telephones cannot be managed with a person who is not present.
  • Days get busy/hectic at times, must be able to handle pressure and stay focussed.
  • Required to "think outside the box" and add value to achieve growth in the Company.
  • Cold calling
Owner expectations of candidate :Customers
  • Presence - Be energetic, hasteful, eager, confident and professional in assisting customers, they keep the company open so give them your respect to lead to the possibility of converting sales.
  • Punctual - Be on time daily and present at your workstation ready to always assist customers by monitoring the shopfront for vehicles arriving and carry your designated phone on your person.
  • Queries - Understand the product in use, as well as the customers position when they call for assistance, be willing to give advice within reason but always pursue booking the vehicle in so that we perform the services ourselves and bill the customer
  • Upselling of Products - Understand our products and make knowledgeable suggestions for the use of and recommend additional supporting products to the customer.
Growth and Presence
  • Adaption to Trends - Learn the market trends and make suggestions for stock holding of popular queried products in periodic sales meetings.
  • Constructive Criticism - Provide opinions towards our appearance in all areas such as clothing, retail layout, website design and in the workshop to make it more attractive to converting sales.
  • Marketing to our customers - Establish a customer base and contact them periodically and advise them of our service offering to attract more business.
  • Expansion of Offering - Speak to companies and find out if they offer products of their own and establish whether we can offer their range through our platform.
Staff and Peers
  • Relationships - Be accountable, when an issue occurs that is your own and do not belittle or destroy internal or external relationships.
  • Protect the company Everyone must work as a team, if there is any one individual that is not a team player that might not be performing their duties, it is expected that this be reported to management for the benefit of everyone.
Issues
  • Claims - Issues are a normal daily occurrence, be eager to assist but creating a purposeful delay to investigate the issue to form a level of accountability by us. Always protect the company from refunds and replacement unless management approval or the suppliers have assisted.
  • Politics - Do not get involved in industry politics, always be neutral and biased towards the protecting us (the company) and your team. Conversations will occur daily about service delivery offered by others, entertain them by offering our assistance and nothing more.
