Job Description


  • Contribute towards projects, by compiling and executing technical project activity plans together with Project Manager.
  • Contribute and assist towards research projects in plant pathology with a focus on grapevine (table, wine and raisin grapes) and fruit trees (citrus, stone, pome, olive.)
  • Assist in microscopy, fungicide trials, isolations from plant material and diagnostics of fungal diseases.
  • Molecular identification of fungal pathogens.
  • Collect, capture, process, interpret technical data, and make internal project recommendations.
  • Prepare reports and conduct contract research independently.
  • Assist with compiling and managing projects and purchases.
  • Ensure optimal utilisation of resources.
  • Optimise equipment and/or processes and/or systems.
  • MSc in Plant Pathology or BSc Honours/BSc (Agric) in Plant Pathology.
  • Demonstrate capacity to conduct research.
  • Must be a South African Citizen.
  • Valid drivers license will be an added advantage.
