Immediate Superior: Inventory Controller
Location: Cape Town (Greenpark- - Epping)

Reference Number: 118975Closing Date: 25/10/2024Purpose of Role:Responsible for the effective coordination of inventory received, stored and dispatched to ensure OTIF delivery of quality products. The incumbent is the designated stand in for Inventory Controller when required.Key Responsibilities:
xc2xb7 Maintain cost effective inventory management of all goods.
xc2xb7 Check depot coverage daily and communicate with Planning if required.
xc2xb7 Report all stock outs to Management, Sales, and Planning stakeholders.
xc2xb7 Liaise with the planning team to resolve stock issues.
xc2xb7 Manage write-offs and keep losses to a minimum.
xc2xb7 Ensure optimal stock availability and stock rotation.
xc2xb7 Participate and assist in inventory counts as prescribed in the organizations policies and procedures.
xc2xb7 Assist with issuing and receiving primary and secondary distribution shipments on SAP.
xc2xb7 Create physical Inventory Documents for daily cycle counts and monthly stock counts.
xc2xb7 Conduct regular floor walks to ensure that Inventory housekeeping is done daily.
xc2xb7 Maintain the highest possible level of customer(Internal and external) service.
xc2xb7 Ensure that customer complaints are resolved swiftly and efficiently.
xc2xb7 Manage stock movements and documentation in accordance with ICC and Internal/External audit controls.
xc2xb7 Conduct routine Quality Control inspections in the Distribution Centre.
xc2xb7 Ensure that updated quality guidelines are displayed throughout the warehouse.
xc2xb7 Complete shelf-life tracker and highlight short dated stock to quality control.
xc2xb7 Conduct quality control checks on receipt of stock and before stock is dispatched.
xc2xb7 Ensure that the FIFO principle is applied to stock movements by printing bin pulling sheets for the warehouse.
xc2xb7 Adhere to the stock age policy and ensure that all concessions are raised and approved.
xc2xb7 Adhere to product recall policy.
xc2xb7 Isolate frozen stock and move it to the blocked stock zone on SAP to stop orders from being placed against it and to reflect the correct days of cover.
xc2xb7 Assist with Quality Audits
xc2xb7 Implement and adhere to Internal Control Measures such as ICC's, ISO requirements and Operations Excellence.
xc2xb7 Check that all Secondary Distribution shipment packs are correct and complete.
xc2xb7 Ensure that all Inter-depot Movement Notes are correct and complete.
xc2xb7 Audit all Primary Distribution and Secondary Distribution Gate Registers against physical documents and final load plan.
xc2xb7 Ensure that all stock and shipment packs are filed as per policy requirements.
xc2xb7 Assist with credit queries.
xc2xb7 Process customer and driver corrections as required.
xc2xb7 Investigate loads that are either short or over and charge depots/drivers and/or 3PL's for shortages.
xc2xb7 Assign variance reasons to all driver and customer corrections.
xc2xb7 Evaluate that all Route Settlement Correction invoices have been recorded in the register and sent to customers for signature.
xc2xb7 Track and resolve missing and unsigned invoices within the specified timeframe.
xc2xb7 Capture missing, broken and foreign survey data.
xc2xb7 Generate and archive stock age concessions and link them to shipments that are received out of specification.
xc2xb7 Ensure that all invoice queries from customers and transporters are resolved timeously.
xc2xb7 Report on missing documents and errors found.
xc2xb7 Ensure that Operational Costs cents per liter cost is contained through continual investigation and improvement of asset utilization.
xc2xb7 Follow the organizations policies and procedures and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Job Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 (Matric) Qualification.
• At least 6 Months relevant experience in FMCG Logistics / Distribution Environment
• Proficient in MS Office, SAP, Strato, Success Factors experience beneficial.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and sound presentation skills.
• The ability to work after hours and / or shifts.
• Knowledge of all relevant legislation.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and practice.
• Experience in a customer service environment is essential.
