LOCATION: Cape TownR HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUSOur client invests in private debt and structures debt capital market transactions for mid-market South African companies. Their clients are typically high-growth, working capital-hungry businesses looking for a value-adding finance partner. They are sector agnostic but prefer industries with a natural tailwind and strong ESG angles, such as alternative energy or job creation. The firm was founded in 2016 and their offices are in Cape Town. In 2023 they invested over R1 billion. Their business model aims to identify a select group of companies with excellent management, products and market opportunities and remove access to capital as the barrier to growth. Their senior team has extensive experience in the London and US high-yield bond markets.They now seek an investment analyst / associate to join their team. You will report to the head of the investment team / investment committee. This is a very busy business - they are doing exceptionally well. Have deployed R1 billion in a very short space of time. They need smart, capable - technically competent resources. You have strong academic results; great attitude; smart; are passionate about a hobby or interest outside of work, and have ideally great relevant current experience. Small team doing superb things!JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT DEFINITELY NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• You will be required to assist with due diligence and post-transaction monitoring of private credit and debt capital markets transactions;
• You will be required to support for the existing team and pipeline of transactions and the role provides an entrepreneurial self-starter with the opportunity to develop into a deal transactor;
• You will be required to ravel to other parts of South Africa as required - ad hoc

CORE COMPETENCIES REQUIRED, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• You have excellent financial modelling skills and the ability to analyse large data sets;
• You have the analytical rigour required to run a due diligence process;
• You have the ability to act as a trusted advisor to the client's senior management teams.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• You are a CA(SA);
• You have a CFA level II / Masters - level degree;
• You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets;
• You have ideally completed your articles at a Big-4 accounting firm.
