LOCATION: Cape Town.R HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUSOur client is a premium African financial services organisation that offers a broad spectrum of financial solutions to retail and corporate customers across key market segments in 14 countries. The lines of business include life and savings, property and casualty, asset management and banking and lending.This division is responsible for all capital allocation, funding and investment of shareholder capital. The investment team decides the over arching investment strategy and allocation decisions but outsources the asset management function to various asset managers. The role reports to the head of the area. Key aspects of the role entail - investment analysis of products and offerings; meetings with asset manager and tracking performance/measurement and related reporting. This client is looking for an agile, high-energy driver that will take initiative and be proactive.
This role is suitable for appropriately qualified affirmative action candidates.JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• You will be required to form part of the Group Balance Sheet Management (GBSM) team;
• You will be required to focus on the roll-out of the companies strategic asset allocation (SAA) framework across the group, with the aim of maximising the risk-adjusted returns on shareholder assets;
• You will be required to assist in driving the roll-out of the SAA framework across all Group subsidiaries revision and implementation of investment mandates;
• You will be required to identify and implement investment strategies;
• You will be responsible for tracking investment performance, including setting benchmarks and
• performance targets, setting risk limits;
• You will be responsible for performing supporting analytics to assist in the evaluation of new investment opportunities;
• You will be responsible for ongoing market surveillance of investment opportunities locally, across Africa and abroad;
• You will be responsible for assisting with asset manager due diligence, selection and monitoring;
• You will be responsible for compilation of investment reports for relevant investment committees.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• You are a CA(SA) / actuary / CFA;
• You have a MBA / other relevant post-graduate degree;
• You have a minimum of 53years' current, relevant experience in investment management and reporting to hit the ground running;
• You have technical experience to ensure you can work this role from day one

• You have the ability to collaborate across the group with various stakeholders.
