LOCATION: Cape TownR HIGHLY NEGOTIABLE PLUS ANNUAL PERFORMANCE BONUSOur client is one of the pre-eminent private equity infrastructure managers in Africa,. With 5 offices on the continent, the company has invested in more than 25 African countries, representing over 74 investments across the power, digital infrastructure, transportation and midstream sectors.They now seek an investment associate to join their team.JOB DESCRIPTION WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:

• You will be required to be passionate about Africa and its development, to provide support to the SADC investment team;
• Financial analysis:

• You will be required to review and analyse financial statements;
• You will be required to build, review, run, modify and interpret financial models, including use of VBA macros;
• You will be required to perform comprehensive company valuations;
• You will be required to review and analyse potential financing structures;
• Investment process and transaction execution:

• You will be required to perform risk analysis;
• You will be required to manage due diligence processes and coordinate transaction advisors;
• You will be required to support senior team members in the negotiation of transaction and project documents;
• You will be required to compile bid documents in tender submissions;
• You will be responsible for consideration of environmental and social risks;
• Investment papers and marketing materials:

• You will be required to prepare investment papers;
• You will be required to company and market research;
• Asset management:

• You will be required to track asset performance against original projections;
• You will be required to support portfolio companies in value-enhancing initiatives;
• You will be required to engage with portfolio company management;
• You will be required to participate in and contribute to board and sub-committee meetings;
• You will be required to revalue existing assets on a semi-annual basis for portfolio valuations;
• You will be required to monitoring and reporting on environmental and social performance of the assets;
• You will be required to support senior team in deal identification and origination and sector research;
• You will be required to project-related travel for site visits, deal negotiations and industry conferences.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• You have an honours financial, legal or engineering degree ;
• You have a minimum of 4 6 years' current, relevant experience within an investment bank (M&A, corporate finance or project finance), private equity or big four accounting firm;
• You have experience in infrastructure, renewable energy, thermal power, digital infrastructure or oil and gas beneficial but not a requirement;
• You have desktop research capability;
• You are technically proficient (advanced) in Excel, Word, PowerPoint these are essential;
• You have project / process management experience.
