IT Head of Applications - GermistonIT - Head of Applications DeliveryKey Responsibilities:The responsibility of the Head of Projects is to manage the complete portfolio of IT Applications and Development Projects across the Value Group. This includes management of resources including business analysts, developers, project managers and Applications support staff to ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within budget and with the appropriate benefits to the business. In addition to management of the programme, the job will also entail hands-on project management of certain complex projects that are key to the business.Role & Responsibilities:xefx82xb7 Managing the overall IT programme of projects including planning and organisation, management of quality, risk management, benefits management
xefx82xb7 Manage complex projects where required
xefx82xb7 Chair the project steering committee
xefx82xb7 Line Manage staff including developers, business analysts, project managers and applications support staff
xefx82xb7 Document and manage project scope and schedule
xefx82xb7 Facilitate workshops with business users in order to gather requirements, generate ideas and validate designs
xefx82xb7 Identify and manage project dependencies
xefx82xb7 Identify and communicate project risks
xefx82xb7 Identify and suggest appropriate solutions to solve business challenges
xefx82xb7 Liaise with senior business stakeholders to enable appropriate solution delivery
xefx82xb7 Manage external vendors in the delivery of project related deliverables
xefx82xb7 Liaise with new external customers and partners in the integration of appropriate systems to facilitate automation of business processes
xefx82xb7 Manage external vendors delivery and monthly billing
xefx82xb7 Budget and track spend
xefx82xb7 Maintain professional conduct
xefx82xb7 Assist in relevant operations/operational functions as required
xefx82xb7 Ensure dress code is in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures
xefx82xb7 Maintain housekeeping standards on a daily basis
xefx82xb7 Ensure standards of Health and Safety are maintainedMinimum Requirements:xefx82xb7 At least a 3 year related degree (B.Comp.Sci, B.Eng) or diploma or relevant NQF Level 6 qualification.
xefx82xb7 Supply chain and/or logistics experience an advantage
xefx82xb7 At least 5 years' experience in managing complex projects across large organisations
xefx82xb7 Understanding of IT infrastructure architecture will be an advantage
xefx82xb7 Good computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project)
xefx82xb7 Experience in facilitating workshops with business users in order to gather requirements, generate ideas and validate designs
xefx82xb7 Extensive commercial awareness
xefx82xb7 Related project management qualification would be advantageous
xefx82xb7 Proficiency in MS Project
xefx82xb7 Knowledge of and exposure to Business Process Reengineering
xefx82xb7 Sound knowledge of organisational transformation and change management processes (strategies and plans for communications, stakeholder management, training, etc.)
