Client based in Pinetown, in the chemical industry is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Manager to lead their IT operations, ensuring the efficiency, security, and scalability of our IT infrastructure.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT management, ERP systems (SAP), networking, cloud technologies, and team leadership. This role requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication and organizational skills to support business operations and drive digital transformation. Key to this role is handling ERP implementations and post implementation support.1. IT Infrastructure & Security

• Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Implement and enforce IT security policies, ensuring compliance with corporate and regulatory standards.
• Manage and monitor backups, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity strategies.
• Provide secure remote access solutions (RDS, VPN) for employees.

2. ERP & Business Applications

• Act as the primary local contact for SAP users, providing training, support, and troubleshooting.
• Manage ERP-related incidents and change requests to ensure seamless operations.
• Lead the migration from Axapta to SAP, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption.

3. Networking & Cloud Services

• Plan and manage IT network infrastructure, including upgrades, expansions, and maintenance.
• Negotiate and oversee local fiber network contracts to enhance connectivity.
• Implement and manage network security in alignment with company standards.
• Maintain and optimize cloud services, including Microsoft Azure.

4. IT Support & Help Desk Management

• Oversee IT support operations, ensuring timely resolution of technical issues.
• Manage the IT Help Desk and provide guidance to IT support staff.
• Work closely with employees at all levels to troubleshoot IT-related problems and enhance user experience.

5. Asset & Software Management

• Manage the procurement, inventory, and lifecycle of IT assets, ensuring proper documentation.
• Ensure compliance with software licensing and update policies.
• Maintain IT asset records in ERP and internal management systems.

6. VoIP & Communication Systems

• Oversee the company's VoIP telephony system, including Direct Routing management.
• Manage VoIP configurations, ensuring optimal functionality and cost-effectiveness.

7. IT Project Management

• Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Utilize Microsoft Planner and other project management tools to track progress and ensure deadlines are met.

8. Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise, mentor, and develop IT staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide training opportunities for team development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align IT strategies with business objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong SAP experience is a mandatory requirement.
• Relevant IT qualifications
• Experience: Minimum 10 years in an IT managerial role
• Expertise in networking, cloud computing (Azure), cybersecurity, and IT infrastructure.
• Experience managing IT projects, budgets, and vendor relationships.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
