Requirements

• Matric
• Relevant Tertiary qualification advantageous
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT operations management
• Proven expertise in Nimble, Commvault, VMware, Panda, Palo Alto, and Barracuda
• Strong knowledge of IT security and compliance standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Needs to be able to work under pressure

Key Responsibilities:
IT Operations Management:

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department, ensuring systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
• Manage and optimize IT infrastructure, including storage solutions (Nimble), backup and recovery systems (Commvault), virtualization platforms (VMware), and security solutions (Panda, Palo Alto, Barracuda).
• Ensure high availability, performance, and reliability of IT systems.
• Develop and implement strategies for infrastructure scaling and improvements.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect IT infrastructure.
• Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents promptly.
• Ensure IT operations comply with industry regulations, company policies, and security standards.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability testing.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of IT professionals.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and development within the team.
• Allocate resources effectively to meet operational goals and project deadlines.

Project Management:

• Plan and execute IT operations projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.

Vendor Management:

• Manage relationships with vendors and service providers.
• Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal service delivery.
• Evaluate and select new technologies and solutions to enhance IT operations.
