IT Support Engineer Tier 2 Cape Town R28 000 to R30 000 Per MonthWe are looking for a motivated and experienced IT Engineer to join our out of hours Service Desk team based in Cape Town, South Africa. This role will report to the Director of Technology and Engineering. This is for a UK-based company, servicing Europe and the UK, so you will work UK hours.The main purpose of this position would be to provide Managed and Support services to our clients and maintain and support our infrastructure and the current client environment proactively.Duties And Responsibilities:xc2xb7 Address client support issuesxc2xb7 Setup and configure services and solutionsxc2xb7 Monitor network and service performance.xc2xb7 Manage client environments utilising a central management system.xc2xb7 Remote engineering work in relation to IT support, internet connectivity, telecommunications and WIFI disciplines including configuration, support and troubleshooting of all the above.xc2xb7 Consistently deliver a high level of customer service and engagement.xc2xb7 Provide progress updates and recommendations to customers and the wider Assembly team.xc2xb7 Updating records, time entries and documentation to aid support in a timely manner.xc2xb7 Assist in the support and management of internal IT systems.xc2xb7 Assist with remote support tasks for customers and internal systems.xc2xb7 Any additional duties that may be requiredTechnical Skills:Essential Requirements:xc2xb7 Knowledge and demonstrated experience with Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022 including Active Directory services and Group Policyxc2xb7 Knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010/13/16xc2xb7 Knowledge of Microsoft 365 configuration, administration & migrationxc2xb7 Knowledge of Microsoft Teams configuration and administrationxc2xb7 Knowledge and demonstrated experience supporting Desktops on Windows 8-11 and Macsxc2xb7 Specific experience in delivering Microsoft critical and security updates during scheduled maintenance windows using automated and centrally managed toolsxc2xb7 Experience in management and administration of anti-malware centralised platformsxc2xb7 Solid networking skills, including wireless networking skills (Ubiquiti wireless hardware)Desirable Requirementsxc2xb7 Solid WAN security (firewalls) experience specifically, Ubiquiti Unifi and TP-Link Omada Firewalls/Security Gatewaysxc2xb7 Accredited in one or more industry-standard certifications, Microsoft MSCA, Cisco CCNA or similarxc2xb7 Knowledge of supporting Azure/AWS cloud environments would be an advantage.xc2xb7 Experience in management and administration of web security filtering solutionsxc2xb7 Experience in email content filtering solutions (Mimecast)xc2xb7 Previous experience with RMM Solutions (like SolarWinds N-Central)General Requirements:xc2xb7 Good problem-solving and fault-finding skillsxc2xb7 Excellent communication skillsxc2xb7 Pride in their workmanshipxc2xb7 Attention to detailxc2xb7 Have an ethos of continuous improvement, with a willingness to learnEducation & Qualification:Essential Requirementsxc2xb7 MSCA Some flavour of Microsoft QualificationDesirable Requirementsxc2xb7 IT Diploma or Degreexc2xb7 CCNA/CCNPxc2xb7 CompTIA Network+, N+, A+, MCSExc2xb7 AWS CertificationBehavioural Competencies:xc2xb7 Shows initiative at every level.xc2xb7 Excellent communication skills professional phone manners and ability to write professional emails and document knowledge clearly and concisely.xc2xb7 The ability to explain technical issues/solutions to non-technical people.xc2xb7 An appreciation for understanding how to deliver against service expectations.Send CV to
